It's never too early to start playing the "will he or won't he?" game with presidential contenders. For anyone who has ever met Ted Cruz, or listened to the senator speak, I think it's fairly obvious that this guy has some big ambitions. But behind any great man is an even greater staff, which which why some recent hires made by Cruz's campaign suggests he's beefing up with the best and brightest ahead of a presidential run in 2016.
Some recent moves in Senator's Cruz's staff include:
Joel Mowbray, a consultant and Middle East and terrorism expert for the think tank Defense of Democracies has started working as a volunteer consultant for Cruz's office, and according to insiders will end up playing a role on the paid campaign staff.
Nick Muzin, the director of coalitions for the House Republican Conference was hired by Cruz in July to serve as his deputy chief of staff. Already Muzin is transitioning his role working on coalitions building and outreach for the campaign.
Jason Miller, a former advisor to Senator Tom Coburn and Representative Darrell Issa, has been brought on by Cruz to put together a more robust communications operation, according to one insider, and is working primarily in the digital space.
Jeff Roe, founded of Axiom Strategies was hired to work in an organizational advising role this past month. He previously worked on the presidential campaigns of Rick Perry and Mike Huckabee, playing a huge role in their Iowa efforts.
Lauren Lofstrom was also brought on this past month to lead Cruz's national fundraising efforts. She was in charge of fundraising on Rick Perry's 2012 campaign as well.
Chip Roy, Cruz's long time chief of staff, has been consulting for his leadership PAC over the past couple of months, according to financial filings.
In addition to stacking his staff with some of the best political minds Washington has to offer, Cruz has also been seen traveling the country stumping for a bevy of conservative candidates for the midterm elections. He also has a book coming out in 2015, which has only strengthened the chatter surrounding his presidential aspirations.
Of course, Cruz's current staff is still trying to shut down any talk about 2016, claiming the recent hires were natural for any politician with growing national recognition.
We have to build out his political operation to put him in a better position to lead, one Republican told the Washington Times. Theres a desire for leadership, hes out there doing his part and we have to build an organization to support it.
Your mind will start working better after your 5th cup of coffee; mine does. LOL

I know all that but if you ask 90% of the voters who is the Solicitor General you will get a rather vacant look. Ted Cruz has a storied past and is truly one of the most intelligent people to ever run for public office. My intent was to show it took him no time when he began to speak to attract a lot of attention and sway a lot of votes. He will shine in the debates.
Actually I’ll be well into my second pot!!!
Marco turned traitor, he brazenly kicked open the door to amnesty, I proudly voted for him and bragged profusely about his efforts, he quickly revealed himself a charlatan, a grifter, a fraud, an imposter and a hypocrite; lower than a democrat; not fit to reside in the haven of sewer rats.
Can you imagine if it happened that way? The left would totally melt down and we would have to open new mental institutions. I don’t think Rand Paul’s a Libertarian.
This article is from August. Back then I had already decided to vote Cruz for POTUS.
The cabinet proposed in reply #3 is perfect. Liberal heads would explode and the the GOPe would be mighty pissed.
It doesn’t get much better than that.
This country needs a POTUS like Cruz and a cabinet like that to get us back on track.
Regarding post #2,Mike Lee for VP and West Sec. of Defense.
” Cruz’ first order of business is not 2016. It ought to be getting ‘our” Congress off its collective and collaborationist ass before this economy circles the bowl. “
Nailed it.
