Fox News and potential presidential candidate Ben Carson went their separate ways last week. Is Fox host and former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee next?
The tension between Huckabee's current job and possible future job has been laid bare in a number of recent news stories. Huckabee, who sought the Republican nomination for president in 2008, is clearly considering a second run -- which would mean he'd have to give up his Saturday night show on Fox News.
On Wednesday, Fox News executive vice president of programming Bill Shine indicated that a decision might be made soon.
"We are taking a serious look at Governor Huckabee's recent activity in the political arena and are evaluating his current status," Shine said in a statement to CNN. "We plan on meeting with him when he returns from his trip overseas."
Due to Huckabee's trip, this Saturday's edition of his show has already been taped....

Its easy to be Christian with other peoples money.
Who?
Watch for Karl Rove’s money to flow to the Huckster as a way to dilute the conservative vote compared to the GOPe.
Vote Huckabee and get Romney!
I'll believe that when I see the staples in his stomach with my own eyes ...
I think there is some sort of tension going on now between Huckabee and Fox News management. I don’t know what for, my guess is money. Something has been set into action. Just the other day, one of their top reporters Megyn Kelly “accidently” said “F—k-a-bee” instead of Huckabee when introducing him (?!?!). Professionals like her do not make those kinds of mistakes. Something has poisoned the well of good will about Huck at Fox, and he may be looking around to consider other career options, PERHAPS EVEN OTHER NETWORKS.
I find it hard to believe that Huck would want to rock the financial boat at this point in his life. He may plan to use a brief Faux-Run to refresh and boost the value of his brand.
I thought he went lap band, er, did it all through "willpower."
Huckabee has put on so much weight it’s shocking. He looks to be well over 300 pounds.
He’s a much better TV host than he’d be a President IMO
Lap bands aren’t as successful as Roux-en-Y and the other permanent procedures.
In Huckabee’s defense, his candidacy will be a joke and he will never win so why should he give up his paying job?
There are quite a few adverse effects, too.
LOL Bingo!!! Fox needs to throw him out the widow!
what she said was “of Huckabee”, only stammeringly. Try it a few times and you’ll see this was a simple tongue-tangle.
Huckabee’s contract with Fox depends on him getting ratings that make them money, primarily. Becoming a candidate automatically gets anyone booted.
I suspect we’ll be seeing more ofHuck! on Fox.
FOX is right you can’t have a candidate working for a news company. Carson and Huck understand the rules.
Why? What difference does it make? --- Hillary Clinton.
The Huckster could probably land a job at MSNBC once he screws up the GOP candidates.
That picture looks just like Pope Francis.
