Who Would Kaisich Choose--If Romney picks his "most comfortable" Portman for VEEP

If Romney selects Portman for VEEP (a fellow technocrat and middle of the roader) who do you Ohioans think would governor Kasich choose to replace him in the Senate?

Dennis Kucinich :)

LOL! Didn't Kucinich high-tale it out of Ohio after Marci Kaptur cleaned his clock?

Romney-Portman - A ticket so boring that you just have to vote for them...

I have the best story about Rob Portman.

A few years ago, we attended a new church at the same time we were paper-chasing for our first adoption. Our pastor had 2 adopted kids from Liberia or some such poophole in Africa.

He told us that when he flew to get them, the government took his passport and would not allow him to leave with the children, who were deathly ill. All attempts by the Adoption Agency failed, all the while the little girl is close to death.

Finally Rob Portman’s office was contacted, and within hours our Pastor was inflight back to the states with the children. He was meet at the airport by an ambulance and they took the kids straight to the Hospital...all courtesy of Rob Portman...who made no mention to the press at all of his heroic deeds.

It was hard enough to win that seat. A new appointee would have to run again in 2 years-not worth the risk in a swing state. Kasich would be better.

You wrote “Ken Blackwell”

I like the idea, but he ran a weak contest for Governor.

To me there are two scenarios:

1) Josh Mandel runs a strong but losing race against Sherrod Brown— then Kasich picks Mandel.

2) Mandel either wins or runs poorly....then it’s an open ball game. I don’t see any Congress critter who jumps out as a dominant candidate. Maybe Sec of State Hustead or Lt Gov Taylor???

I expect Mandel to win. As for Blackwell, he was in a no-win scenario in 2006. He not only had to battle against the RINO wing of the party just to get the nomination, he had to carry the burden of a viscerally unpopular party and was tarred with the scandal of the then-most unpopular Governor in the country, Bob Taft. Blackwell should’ve run for Governor back in 1998. He’d have ended up a leading candidate for President by 2008.

I agree with the choice of Rubio.

But I don’t believe R3 (Rockefeller Republican Romney) is going to pick a Reagan-like Rubio to be his VEEP. I’d be more enthused if he did.

For me Rubio presents about the same eligibility problem as Obama as far as parentage is a concern. I would hope Romney and other politicians would recognize and acknowledge the similarity. Someday Obama’s true eligibility, not withstanding any Roberts flimflam, will be exposed. I don’t want Obama and his enablers off the hook of fraud because his eligibility is covered by accepting situations similar to Rubio’s.
