How Much Damage Could HC Inflict on Dems?
Real Clear Politics ^ | March 10, 2010 | Sean Trende

Republican polling firm The Tarrance Group, in conjunction with the Start Over! Coalition (which appears to be an anti-ObamaCare group) has commissioned polling for the districts of eleven Democrats thought to be potential flippers on the final vote on health care reform. The results for the main question, “do you favor or oppose the health care reform legislation being proposed by President Obama and the Democrats in Congress” are as follows, along with the members' votes on the health care bill the first time around:

AZ-8 (Giffords, yea): 35% favor, 52% oppose, 46% strongly oppose;

CO-4 (Markey, nay): 33% favor, 58% oppose, 51% strongly oppose;

IN-9 (Hill, yea): 31% favor, 52% oppose, 44% strongly oppose;

NJ-3 (Adler, nay): 34% favor, 57% oppose, 46% strongly oppose;

OH-1 (Driehaus, yea): 39% favor, 54% oppose, 48% strongly oppose;

OH-16 (Boccieri, nay): 38% favor, 51% oppose, 46% strongly oppose;

NV-3 (Titus, yea): 40% favor, 52% oppose, 44% strongly oppose;

NY-13 (McMahon, nay): 40% favor, 46% oppose, 37% strongly oppose;

NY-24 (Arcuri, yea): 32% favor, 53% oppose, 47% strongly oppose;

PA-4 (Altmire, nay): 30% favor, 58% oppose, 47% strongly oppose;

PA-10 (Carney, yea): 28% favor, 58% oppose, 47% strongly oppose.

Obviously, any of these Democrats voting "yes" will be doing so in the face of some strong headwinds at home. Majorities oppose the bill in every district except one (McMahon's), and over 45% strongly oppose the bill in every district except for three.(continued)

Definitely read the rest of the article for more context.

One thing that baffles me about such Republican polling is this: So what do we do about it?

The poll results indicate that HCR passage would damage Dem prospects in 2010 and 2012. Should Republicans in Congress just play it as it lays and cash in in the upcoming elections? Or is that too dangerous?

What could is controlling the house and senate if there is nothing left to control.
Remember this bill gives the WhiteHouse the power not Congress. To repeal it would require 2/3 and we won’t win it by that much. The Congress left after the elections will most probably be the really really far leftists from really really far left districts.

And dont forget all the Commie radicals who have been appointed at all levels of the government by this administration.They have worked hard to ensure a Leftist infastructure will be in place regardless of future electoral processes.

The only way to remedy this will be a complete routing of the government after some sort of revolution.

I’m afraid things are going to have to get much worse before they start to get better.

“Code Red” – Tennessee Democrat Congressmen Targeted

The National Republican Congressional Committee has published this Tennessee target list on health care. You can also go to http://www.votervoice.net/link/clickthrough/ext/94697.aspx to conveniently contact some of these guys. Never mind about the so-called “fixit bill”: the way to defeat Obamacare is by defeating the Senate bill in the House when it goes to the floor for an up-or-down vote on Thursday, March 18th.
PLEASE CALL ………....... WASHINGTON DC ..….. LOCAL DISTRICT …..…

But if these results are typical of the nation as a whole, they're probably looking at over 100 members sitting in districts where the health care reform bill is upside-down.

If they are stupid enough to ram the Senate bill through the House, they give the issue of repealing it to the GOP for the next two election cycles, maybe longer. I don't see them having a two thirds vote to override Obama's veto.

How much damage. Does the name Custer ring a bell.

Custer: “Look at all those f**king Indians.”

Pelosi: “Look at all those f**king Republican.”

Same result.
