California Democrat Charles Pineda Jr. is on the ballot as a candidate for Governor of California. Charles Pineda SUPPORTS Traditional Values and The Right To Bear Arms. Democrats are encouraged to say NO! to Gray Davis! Vote **-Charles Pineda Jr.-** for Governor!
Individual Democrats need to personally consider several issues and hopefully they will see that the Democratic Party is wrong, and that we need restoration and reform in the Democratic Party. Democrats need to say NO! to Gov. Gray Davis. His 'modern' and typical 'democratic' politics and leadership is NOT what Democrats need, and it is NOT what the people of California need. We need an 'exit strategy' for G.G Davis! A vote for Democrat **-Charles Pineda Jr.-** is a vote for restoring the Democratic Party to our important American principles.
Democrat voters have their reasons and their favorite issues to continue to support the typical Democrat candidates. While the voters know what the Democratic leadership and the candidates say about issues, have the voters taken the time to hear an alternate or oppossing viewpoint before making up their mind, and before casting their vote?
In history, the Democratic Party had a good foundation, being inspired and founded(?) by Thomas Jefferson. There needs to be a discussion of the history of were the Democrats went wrong.
On this Primary Election Day of 2002, we need to consider a couple of specifics issues where G.G Davis and the Democrats are wrong.
1. - As Americans (and as Democrats), we need to consider the matter of the right to life vs. the 'choice' of death, as it relates to a child who is growing in the mother's womb during the time of pregnancy. With a basic understanding of human biology, we can know that each of us began our lives at the moment of conception (fertilization). As life begins at conception, so should the right to life begin from the time of conception. While this young life is growing inside the mothers body, this young life is a genetically distinct, and a completely unique human individual. With modern medical care, this young child in a pregnancy is rarely a threat to the life of the mother.
'Choice' and 'abortion' are not about healthcare, freedom, or rights. 'Choice' is a clever and deceptive euphemism, which helps divert our attention and derail the discussion of some of the real issues. When we realize that 'abortion' actually kills the young life in the womb, then we will know that 'choice-abortion' is a cruel injustice. (Even with RU-486) - Virtually every 'abortion' stops a beating heart!
A mother or father may 'choose' not to love and nurture a baby in the uterus; but our society should not provide the legal means, or allow the medical means, to kill that baby. There are times when people react to a pregnacy as a crisis. Discussing the `crisis' of a pregnancy can be a sign of sesitivity and compassion. But it should not then narrow the discussion, and limit the choices to just one option. Being compassionate should not mandate the support of the common use of 'abortion'. And all things considered, being truly compassionate is incompatable with the support of legal 'abortion'.
When someone decides they don't want the child, that does not change the humanity of the child. The so-called 'unwanted' child is still human, and still deserves the basic right to life that each person deserves.
When people support the `choice' of legal 'abortion', or avoid the discussion of 'abortion', they are not being tolerant of privacy, rights, or freedom. They are being tolerant of an injustice.
Democrats have been at their best when we have expressed concern for the common person, and for people in need. A mother (or the father, or some other person who is advising the mother) may be indifferent to the child who is living and growing in the womb. But because of this indifference, we should not just ignore the right to life of the child. And we should not sanction or be indifferent about the killing of that child.
2. - The leadership of the Democratic Party needs to change their attitude about the Second Amendment and firearms in order to know the best way to deal with the gun violence that we see in our American society.
There are Democrats who may think that guns are scary and dangerous, and that only the police and military need to have them. With the tragedy of assinations, and the gun violence in society, some/many Democrats suggest that we should ignore or abolish the Second Amdendment, and support extensive legislative 'gun control'. Democrats need to know that the Second Amendment specifically states that the right of people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed. Democrats need to further understand that 'gun control' does NOT work! 'Gun control' keeps lawmakers busy, but it does not protect citizens. The everyday criminal cares nothing about your life or rights, and they don't care about a 'gun control' law. Some of the cities that have the strictest 'gun control' laws, also have a continuation of gun violence.
As Democrats, we need to understand that the Second Amendment is as relevant and important today in the 21th Century, as it was when it was written. The Second Amendment protects the First Amendment, the Second Amendment protects it ALL! - It protect US All!
Our best protection against crime, is the personal possession of a firearm. If someone doesn't want to possess a firearm, they should be thankful each day that America has a Second Amendment, and that some of their neighbors have firearms. It would take a police-state to effectively enfore the total aboliton of guns, and it would then take a police-state to effectively protect our society from the criminals.
What we need in our society is not the control or abolition of guns. We need for more of our citizens to learn the importance of firearms and their safe use.
3. - The purpose of government - With the approval of the Consitution, the Founders of America decided to have limited government. The purpose of government is provide for our basic freedoms, and to conduct the basic business of the government. American, and California government should not be trying to provide for peoples everyday needs, and government should not be running peoples lives.
Democrats - VOTE **-Charles Pineda Jr.-** for Governor of California!
After all the chads are counted and we know the results the of the primary election, then we can discuss the general election.
Bill Simon seems to be the current favorite amoung Republicans. Hope it goes well.
But for Democrats, let's support Charles Pineda, and say NO! to Davis and the typical Democratic politics.

We realize our once great American Party has been taken over by Commies, Statists, and malecontents looking for a free ride in the last 30 years. Our goal is to take this American Hating Self Loathing Political Institution that has catered to every wacko fringe group and anyone with any complaint whatsoever, and make it Pro American once again. If enough of you people vote for me, it would be a step in that direction.
If... we can take your thoughts, and maybe rewrite it, and effectively communicate it to Democrats... and persuade Democrats... THIS should be the goal and the activity of the 'conservatives' on Free Republic.
I have had some preliminary ideas, but only this morning did I get something that is a good final draft. If I had the time, and knew where all the Dems sites were, I would do -Exactly- as you suggest. Even though it is election day, & maybe kind of late, I do invite anyone that has the time and interest to distribute this message to Democrats.
After the chads are counted, I am looking forward to communicating with the Dems sites. I hope others on Free Republic will make an effort to effectively communicate with the everyday Democrat voters.

Concering 'spam' - I posted something similar to this on the California Locale message board:
Democrats are a significant part of the policical process in our state and country. They are not just going to go away. Cursing them and ridicuing them, isn't going to solve the problem.
Since this is Primary election day, it may not be likely - but what if Democrats had known the issues, and voted for Charles Pineda, and had said NO! to Gray Davis? Wouldn't that be a miracle, and a great step in the right direction? Isn't that what most people on Free Republic want?
Again I say, the participants of Free Republic need to work together to effectively communicate and persuade Democrats. If you can convince them to change their registration, - good for you. If they remain as Democrats and choose better candidates, leaders, & policies, - that should be the goal.
That may not be true. I was a registered Democrat for more decades than I can bear to admit. Never again.
There are those who do not understand that ours is a two party system. The strong central executive makes each election very close to a "winner take all" contest.
The strategy for those who wish to see a third party prosper is to identify which of the two leading parties must die in order for the third party to be viable.
That is why I am a Republican and will remain one until the Democrat party is dead.
Just as Riordan is no Republican, Pineda is no Democrat. Supporting him and helping the Democrats to walk the fine line between incompetence and tyranny is not helpful.

But I'm registered "Non-Partisan" and a poll worker tried to steer me to a democRAT booth.
I couldn't stop myself. I saw his name and just drove that stylus in.

In the beginning, the Dem Party had a good foundation. Somehow, it got taken over. Ex-Dems must be saying, 'I'd rather run than fight'. Why did YOU leave? - Why didn't you stay & fight and get the socialists, etc. to change, or get THEM to leave! (Maybe you or others did make a sincere effort to work for having the Dems do what is right.)
I will suggest that the greatest problem is not that the leadership is wrong; the Greatest problem is that the everyday Democrat voter doesn't KNOW... doesn't know the issues, and the other point of view. And/or, they are afraid to go into new 'political territory' & take a chance.
If we work the system, and make a solid effort to effectively communicate with Democrats... And if they hear the message and reject it... At that time, after the sincerce effort has been made & if the majority of Dems don't want to change, then that would be the time for me to change my registration.
-Dem Party must die- My first preference:
The Democratic Party must change the way they govern! After a sincere effort is made, - if the majority wants to continue with current policies, then let the party die.
Pineda is no Democrat... - Says you? I don't know that much about him. I did recieve an email, and he stated he supported traditional values & RKBA. You say he is no Democrat? Maybe he is a Democrat who is willing to stand his ground and discuss and fight for what is right.
I have a continual question for the ('conservative') ex-Dems: - You weren't happy with the Dem Party, so you went to the GOP or elsewhere... Are you perfectly happy NOW! The Republicans are better, when they can effectively communicate their principles, and take a stand... When, they are not timid and making great effort to imitate Democrats, just to please the media and the electorate... Many are happy with GWB, & hopeful for Bill Simon. But I expect there are a lot of ex-Dem's that have had their share of nail-biting & ulcers over the actions of the sometimes whimpy GOP. Right?
As this is stated here on FR (FreeRepublic), there might be interested Dems/ & other persons who are reading this, and they will ask for specific examples. This is were FR needs to provide the well-written response. Something lenghty, and then a concise version, - to effectively communicate with Democrats (and others).
