Effectively admits you can't resign an office you never legitimately held.

Easy fix to that statement. Sometimes elitist arrogance just oozes out of their pie holes.

Question to Dr.David Anders on Called To Communion: “If a Pope slips into a mental or physical condition others can see but he refuses to acknowledge is there a group at the Vatican that can remove him as Pope?”
Dr.Anders: No.
Here on this forum a couple of years ago a person far more knowledgeable than I as a non-Catholic, said the same small group in the Vatican that chose him to be Pope is still there to choose another just like him.

If such an office could ever exist, which it can’t, then yeah—pick your spot!

Ouch...that’s gonna leave a mark!

IMHO Papa Frank is the poster child for Catholics to have another Conciliar Movement.

His national family has been happy to be rid of him these last eleven years.

What's all this talk?
Did Peter “resign”?
I think not.
The whole thing actually causes me to question some of the basic tenets of the (so called) “Catholic Church”.

Funny.
The Venerable Archbishop Fulton J Sheen:
Humphrey Bogart and I spent a little time together off and on. He told me “There are a lot of people who think they know al about Catholicism but frankly, even without being one I can stack my knowledge against just about any of them.”
Later in a conversation he asked me: “Was your father also a priest?”

But I’ve noticed a lot of bears using fast food restaurant rest rooms off the interstates.

As in, the guy who was pope was.
To: Ken Regis
Perceived instability after centuries of utter stability will do that.
Bergoglio knows that all too well.
To: frank ballenger
There is a two millennia-old Vatican bureaucracy that could govern through the pope’s skeleton on a pike if it wanted to. The pope does not need to retire so If Bergolio goes then the Vatican itself wants him gone.
