Here are some suggestions on how to live greener from an "environmental task force" in the Archdiocese of Newark.
ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — An “environmental task force” in the Archdiocese of Newark has been helping to make Essex County and other towns in North Jersey a little bit greener over the past few years. Now, its members are calling for Catholic residents across the state to join the effort.
The archdiocese’s Environmental Justice Task Force was created with the blessing of Cardinal Joseph Tobin in 2019. The task force has since established a subcommittee of parish liaisons to foster environmental advocacy at the local level, including Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Montclair, which built a community garden.
Other activities inspired by the task force include:
* Notre Dame Church in North Caldwell planted a pollinator garden and cleaned up a nearby neighborhood
* St. Lucy Church in Newark pushed for the creation of the Essex-Hudson Greenway through efforts like obtaining signatures for the initial petition and other outreach
* St. Catherine Church in Glen Rock holds Sustainable Sundays monthly to promote ways of helping the planet
* Our Lady of Mercy Church in Park Ridge launched a Creation Care Corner in its weekly bulletin, distributed wild seed packets to parishioners, and advocated for the nonprofit Save Barnegat Bay, among other efforts

You meatheads have any proof that it’s real and not just a massive government grant program for anti-Capitalist commie pigs?
Durn tootin’ - it’s December here in the PNW and there’s snow! Snow doggonit! When will climate change bring back Spring?
They want to clean up New Jersey, I have no problem with that
Religious people are meatheads, interesting.
Lefties would say, “Well, they do worship a invisible sky wizard, so why not climate change?”
“..If you believe in Peanut Butter, Clap Your Hands!”
But they’ll question God…
Retards.
It’s been changing since Noahs time. We know WHAT caused it (sin) and we know Who caused it. Can I get some grant money too?
And nothing about pushing for nuclear power. If you want to help the planet AND improve human lives...
Yeah. It’s changing. It always has since the fall of man. It’s evil to buy into this gloBull warming garbage. Evil.
You know something about things that are real? You never hear people walking around declaring that they are real.
I’ve never heard anyone say “Rattlesnakes are real”... “gravity is real”.... “radio waves are real”.
The gaslighter machine is never going to run out of gas.
Our Solar System is showing evidence of warming. The Solar System during this last decade is starting to point the finger at our dear Sun. The planets show evidence of warming. Obviously, this is not linked to any human activity. On the contrary, different studies are showing a link with solar activity and also with cosmic rays.
The weather is affected by solar winds, caused by the Sun. Scientist has noted that explosive extratropical cyclones tend to occur after arrivals of high-speed solar wind streams. Auroral gravity waves may play a role in the release of instabilities leading to storms—all caused by the Sun!
Scientist are finding that cosmic rays seem to be related to long-term global temperature variations—an idea that conflicts with the human-caused global warming dogma. A Russian team showed that a large proportion of climate variations can be explained by the mechanism of action of solar irradiance and cosmic rays. However, until few years ago it was unclear how cosmic rays could have such an effect on our Earth’s climate. Now, the explanation has been found: Such radiation becomes an energy transfer that heats up the Earth’s polar regions which is transferred to the rest of the planet.
The real concern is what will happen when solar activity approaches minimum? Besides a global cooling, it will affect Earth’s magnetic field and its ability to shield from cosmic radiation. Our CO2 levels will not be able to shield us from the DNA damage.
Sorry but this woke attitude does not inspire confidence that this Archdiocese can be trusted in important matters of faith and culture.
One of Satan’s most successful gambits has been to install the various church hierarchies with obtuse and credulous people. No less than the liberal protestant churches., catholic priests seem willing to swallow just about any BS if it is sugarcoated in some sanctimonious crust.
the archbishop supported biden, so liberal, I was surprised about this article (thanks for posting) and their activism and not surprised that churches in this diocese are as liberal as their leader. Any of these parishes have respect life committees, go to the march for life, pray outside an abortion clinic, I bet not.
“planted a pollinator garden, cleaned up a nearby neighborhood, obtained signatures for the initial petition, outreach, monthly meetings to promote ways of helping the planet, distributed wild seed packets, and advocated for the nonprofit Save Barnegat Bay.”
These are pathetically laughable, meaningless, trivial virtue signaling at its finest. How people can actually think they are “doing something” with activities like these is beyond me.
Call me when they sell their houses and cars, move into unheated Tuff Sheds, eat bugs, pump their own water, move about on foot, and wear sackcloth and ashes.
The modern-day version of the Germain “churches” that bolstered and encouraged Hitler and his Third Reich...
They could have and should have done this on their own years ago. You didn’t have to be a rocket scientist to clean up your streets and abandoned lots, plant vegetable gardens, or train people in how to recycle materials to stop the useful items in out trash.
But then again, these are leftist religious climate fanatics in green clothing.
