President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said that God punished the EU with a drought for its policies.
President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said that the drought and other natural disasters in the EU are God's punishment for the chosen political course. He said this at an open lesson in the Minsk Palace of the Republic on Knowledge Day, smartpress.by reports.
“In fact, Europe is on the verge of the most powerful food crisis in modern history. God exists. He punished them with this severe drought, and now with terrible storms and floods,” assures Lukashenko.
Alexander Lukashenko said that Europe is not a subject of big politics, but a satellite of the United States, and therefore "suffers, ready to fulfill any will of its master."

Cannot say the thought had not crossed my mind.
I don’t believe that God ‘punishes’ anyone.
He set laws in motion at the beginning, and humans punish themselves by breaking them.
Lukashenko is wrong.
Ask the democrats and the environmental wackos, and they’ll blame climate-change.
God brings judgment on people and nations for violating His laws.
But that is always meant to bring people to a place of repentance, not for the purpose of just Divine Retribution.
So, he very well could be right but just not for the reason most people think.
It would be very pleasant if it was give the Sodom treatment.
From observation the governments of the EU have made stupid decisions. That said you’re flagellating your own people, not God.
Sure looks that way. Freezing weather plus no fuel is on the docket for them in a few short months.
England may see a re-run of the winter of 62-63, when the rivers and lakes froze over.
There will be a huge mortality rate, esp. among the elderly.
Sorry, President Lukashenko. It ain’t just Europe that is being punished by God. Canaduh has been under God’s Judgement since at least October 19, 2015, His Judgement manifesting, beginning November 4, 2015.
I’ll leave it up to intrepid (and interested) FReepers to figure out what those dates represent.
I don’t know.
I don’t presume to know what God thinks. I just know that he laid down certain laws, and I can usually witness their veracity in everyday life. And I don’t think he steps outside of them whimsically, circumstantially, or arbitrarily.
I just do my best to follow His logical Law as my understanding allows.
Do not agree.
“And that after this is accomplished, and the brave new world begins
When all men are paid for existing and no man must pay for his sins
As surely as Water will wet us, as surely as Fire will burn
The Gods of the Copybook Headings with terror and slaughter return!”
R. Kipling
I clearly hear the footsteps of “The Gods Of the Copybook Heading”
Well, the world is a big place with plenty of space for differing opinions.
You can see the pattern of how God deals with nations in the OT when Israel sinned.
God did not bring judgment on them just to punish them but to bring them to repentance. He addresses something similar in Revelation 2 & 3, where He calls on the churches to repent lest he remove them.
We can know how God thinks by reading His word. He’d rather show mercy than bring judgment. So “punishment” is not just for the sake of punishing, but allowing these things to occur is to bring us to repentance.
And if you still can’t figure it out, you need to get into the Word more. It’s clear in there.
Exactly.😊
Or the clip-clop of those apocalyptic horses.
As I said to a previous poster, people see things differently, and the world is big enough for that.
I’m sure God will deal with me in His own way, and I have no worries about that.
The rule of thumb is very simple, God, good. Satan, bad. So that would not be God, that would be satan.
