Seven: Part I

Scriptural law teaches that a thing shall be established by two or more witnesses; thus, often we find many things reoccurring throughout the Bible to establish the truth, though often in different ways. Pharaoh was given two different dreams foretelling of one event as a conformation that the thing was certain and surely going to come to pass.  Wherefore, we also are given a cloud many of witnesses whereby we can be sure and have confidence in our faith of those things which are to be believed.

"Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us" - Hebrews 12:1

As we study the Bible, we begin to recognize and connect many of the usages of biblical symbols; and it becomes clearer that all the books of the Bible are indeed one work. Though there are many writers, the consistency of the usage of signs and symbols serve as a cloud of witness pointing clearly to one Author.  As it is written:

“Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.” – 2 Peter 1:20-21

Thus, the men who wrote down the scriptures were merely transcribing the words dictated to them by the Spirit.  And not only is the usage of signs and symbols consistent throughout over hundreds of years between the times of the writers and their writings, but so also is the picture they create together. Furthermore, many of their prophesies have come to pass since their writing—a number of which we have seen and can verify, particularly so regarding Israel and the Jewish people—we should have no doubt the remainder shall be fulfilled.

Being how themes throughout the Bible are often supported and tied together by reoccurring events, signs, and symbols as witnesses, we also often find numbers repeatedly used in like manner. From this we are able to establish the meaning of their use.  The number seven is but one number used prolifically throughout the Bible.  Seven is the number used to signify perfection, completion, and rest. We find this first in Genesis chapter one when God finished all his work on the seventh day, stated that it was good, and rested from all is work on that day.

In the book of Hebrews we find that we also are given a promise of entering into his rest, which is the true Sabbath, if we keep his commandments and faint not.  This is a great mystery regarding the seventh day.  Indeed, for man was created on the sixth day, but  perfection will only come after we go beyond the sixth day to completion of the week and rest on the seventh day.

A biblical day begins with the onset of darkness which then is overcome by light, as stated in Genesis chapter one.  The evening and the morning, in that order, make up a day, with the sunrise chasing away the darkness at the midpoint of the day.  For sunrise is the middle of a biblical day, not noon.  Each biblical day of the week represents a spiritual division; and each day has two divisions wherein the passing darkness is overcome by light, as is ignorance is by knowledge.

The seventh day, represents completion, the fullness of light: the perfect day, and the coming to perfection of the perfect man. This representation of the number seven is confirmed numerous times and in different ways throughout the bible.   An example is the picture of Enoch, who was the seventh from Adam, and who was given as a sign of the perfect man belonging to God, as it is written:

“And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him.” – Genesis 5:24

This is confirmed in Chapter 5 of Genesis which contains the book of the generations of Adam until Noah. The years of Adam's life and of his descendants until their death are recorded specifically, with the exception of Enoch who was, taken. God takes the perfect man; Enoch being the seventh man was used as a figure.

The book of Hebrews also expounds further upon Enoch's departure,

“By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God.” – Hebrews 11:5

Jude also references Enoch, quoting his prophecy:

“And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints, To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him” – Jude 14-15

Interestingly, this quotation of Enoch by Jude was found among fragments of the Dead Sea Scrolls recovered at Quorum. The fragments predate Christianity and are evidence that Jews of the time were familiar with and accepted the book of Enoch.

David also was chosen as a representative of the figure—being the seventh son begotten of Jesse after his elder brothers were passed over—of whom it was said, he walked before God with a perfect heart.

It was on the sixth day God created man. And God ceased his work on the seventh. This was later used as a picture of Christ when God gave manna to the Children of Israel in the wilderness; for he commanded them to gather manna six days and cease on the seventh.  Afterward the command was given to Israel at Mt. Sinai and written into the law, ”Six days shalt thou labor, and do all thy work”.  Thus, the seventh day was instituted as a day of rest, for God rested on the seventh day; not that God was tired, but in that he was finished. Thus, seven represents the completion of labor.

In chapter four of the book of Hebrews, in somewhat difficult passages, we find a mystery pertaining to this figure. In speaking of those who came out of Egypt who were promised rest, but because of disbelief, did not enter the promised land, the scriptures states the following:

“For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works. And in this place again, If they shall enter into my rest. Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief." – Hebrews 4: 4-6

The surrounding verses in the chapter are needed for context, but essentially the comparison is of the seventh day Sabbath, and the Children of Israel ending their journey and finding rest in the promised land.  This is an illustration of those who believe and follow God into his kingdom.  Nonetheless, the Children of Israel failed to enter into rest because of unbelief.

But the scripture states, “some must enter”. Therein is a reference to those who do believe. And some who believed did later enter into the land promised.

The seventh day is rest. Those who believe enter into that rest. Christ spoke saying, “Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest” – Matthew 11:28

Christ is the true rest, not merely a figure of true. Christ is the Sabbath; the Seventh Day, Christ is Completion, the Perfect Man. Christ is the Promised Land of perfection and rest we must seek, “...[F]or, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.” -- Luke 17:21

As it is stated,

“For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his. Let us labor therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.” – Hebrews 4:10-11

As God ceased his work on the seventh day, so we also are to cease from our own works by passing beyond the sixth day (the day of man) in coming to the fullness of the Week wherein we find rest, which rest is in the fullness of Christ. Jesus said he was the true bread (manna) which came down from heaven. Six days are given to, "gather and eat" (learn and do) the Word of God, coming to rest in the fullness thereof on the seventh.

Week, in biblical terms literally means seven. It can mean seven days, seven weeks, seven years, or any time frame grouped by seven.  Christ is the fullness of the Seven manifold spirits of God which comprise One Spirit. The light of the seven days, none of which end in darkness brings completion.

So also, the golden candlestick had seven lamps. Six branches, each bearing a lamp, three on one side and three on the other, proceeded from the center base which also was a candlestick.  The center base lamp held up the six branches which came out from it. So also, Christ is the center to which the six branches are attached on either side.  Together they created One Lamp which lights up the temple. So is Christ in the heart.  “For ye are the temple of God, if so be Christ be in you.” Christ is the Light within the temple of the heart of those who receive him.

Forasmuch as God created the Sun on the fourth day—there are three days of the week on one side of the forth day, and three days of the week on the other—the fourth day is the center of the week; so likewise it is with the center candlestick of the temple lamp.

At the close of the day, on each of the first six days, each day concludes with a statement. Beginning with the first day, the scripture states: “And the evening and the morning were the first day”. And so it is for each day unto the sixth day. Of the seventh day, however, there is no mention of evening in the chapter.

Obviously in the physical realm, night and day are a daily occurrence of all seven days. However, we have not yet entered the seventh day, being that we still labor to fully cease from our works, as God did from his. As also the Apostle Paul himself stated; “Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus.” - Philippians 3:12

With this in mind, is God's Seventh Day only comprised of Light? Indeed! For it is written that those who enter His kingdom of rest shall know no darkness!

“And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it. And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof. – Revelation 21:22-23

And again,

“And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever. - Revelation 22:5

Deuteronomy 19:15 One witness [5707] shall not rise up against a man for any iniquity, or for any sin, in any sin that he sinneth: at the mouth of two witnesses [5707], or at the mouth of three witnesses [5707], shall the matter be ESTablished.

Gotta love those Strong's numbers.

As he reached the platform Streicher cried out, 'Now it goes to G-d.' He was pushed the last two steps to the mortal spot beneath the hangman's rope. The rope was being held back against a wooden rail by the hangman.

Streicher was swung suddenly to face the witnesses and glared at them. Suddenly he screamed, 'Purim Fest 1946.'

I’ve read the Book of Enoch. It was very interesting. What else is interesting is that fragments were found in Israel among the Dead Sea Scrolls.

Actually,the bible says the opposite.

He called the Light Day.
And the Darkness Night.

The evening and morning described after the Light,is what is described as the Night.

Religion is 180 degrees out of whack.

Let there be Light was the first day.

The darkness before that Light does have a day associated with it ..
The New Moon Day. Once a month. Ezekiel 46:1 gives that template.
That’s the day that commemorates Genesis 1:1 and John 1:1.
Time/events before the First Work Day, which is Let there be Light.

Light, work done.
Then evening (fading of the day in Hebrew)
Then morning (dawn, new light)

The first Day.

Maybe religion needs a refresher on why Light is called Day
And the end of the Light doesn’t mean a new day, it means the start of the darkness, He calls night..

That’s what Creation and His Word actually details.
180 degrees opposite what Babylonian religions teach. And follow..

The Beast beginning its days at night should be a clue it’s wrong.
