Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church has an English translation of the Nicene Creed. It goes as follows:
We believe in One True God,
The Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth and of all things visible and invisible;
And in the One Lord Jesus Christ, the Only-Begotten Son of God, begotten of the Father before all world, Light of Light, True God of True God, begotten, not made, being of one essence with the Father, and by Whom all things were made; Who for us men and for our salvation came down from heaven;
†And was incarnate of the Holy Spirit and of the Holy Virgin Mary, Mother of God, and became man;
†And was crucified for us in the days of Pontius Pilate and suffered, and died, and was buried;
†And on the third day, He rose again according to His will, and ascended into heaven, and sits at the right hand of the Father, and shall come again in His great glory to judge both the living and the dead, whose kingdom shall have no end;
And in the one Living Holy Spirit, the life-giving Lord of all, Who proceeds from the Father, and Who with the Father and the Son is worshipped and glorified, Who spoke through the prophets and apostles;
And in the One, Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church; and we confess one baptism for the remission of sins, and look for the resurrection of the dead and the new life in the world to come. Amen.
‘It gives us true purpose, an objective moral path to follow, and meaning in this life as well as glorifying God both now and in eternity.’
one may have true purpose, a moral path, and meaningful life without imputing the existence of supernatural beings...
The biblical answer to the question is in 1 John:
Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.
Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God
And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.
This was pretty much confirmed by Jesus when He asked Peter who he said He was... to assure Peter of his status after his betrayal.
Who do YOU say that Jesus IS?
That is the test of one’s belief.

Believe Jesus is the Son of God.
And serve Him instead of the old master you used to serve,
Jesus said *I am the Way, the truth, and the light. No man comes to the Father except by Me!*
Sola Fides
The answer is in Matthew 10:42:
And whosoever shall give to drink unto one of these little ones a cup of cold water only in the name of a disciple, verily I say unto you, he shall in no wise lose his reward.
That to me is one of the most comforting verses in the Bible. Although you are his forever if you just decide to be, this little act seals the deal.
Not only that, but everything you do for someone else after that in Jesus’ name is even better, because you are not doing it selfishly for your own salvation anymore. You’re just doing it for him.
Acts 10:34, after being sent by God to the gentile Cornelius, who clearly was a believer: “Peter began to speak: ‘Now I truly understand that God doesn’t show favoritism, but in every nation the person who fears Him and does what is right is acceptable to Him.’ “
Only God knows what constitutes believing faith, and we cannot see and know what He knows. First and foremost, it is a spiritual (hence invisible) transaction between the person and God, thus unknowable to us. Isaiah 55:8 shows if we set to judge, we invariably will judge incorrectly - unless we hear from above.
Whatever they want you to belirve, the “bug” has damaged their coffers mightily.
The thief on the cross did enough. More than that is not necessary.
Then, in looking up (googling) about this, I was AMAZED at all the blasphemy by pastors and religious pundits.
I was SHOCKED! “That was because Jesus spoke to him in person”. We don’t know that he wasn’t previously baptized”.
“Was he REALLY saved”.
Learned men studying the bible, I should say “scrutinizing” every detail to TRY to understand/explain a verse or word or action, get lost in the pages.
“Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar”.
Jesus SPOKE the world into existence, but when He spoke to the thief on the cross He was just kidding around? He wasn’t SERIOUS?
OR that we need “men” to interpret Jesus’ plain words. “Men” to tell us what Jesus really meant!
Like John 11:35, Jesus wept.
Again, Learned men studying the bible, I should say “scrutinizing” every detail to TRY to understand/explain a verse or word or action, get lost in the pages.
Taking only the red lettered parts (The very words of Jesus), of John 11.
“This sickness will not end in death. No, it is for the glory of God, so that the Son of God may be glorified through it.”
“Let us go back to Judea.”
“Are there not twelve hours of daylight? If anyone walks in the daytime, he will not stumble, because he sees by the light of this world. But if anyone walks at night, he will stumble, because he has no light.”
“Our friend Lazarus has fallen asleep, but I am going there to wake him up.”
“Lazarus is dead, and for your sake I am glad I was not there, so that you may believe. But let us go to him.”
“Your brother will rise again,”
“I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in Me will live, even though he dies. And everyone who lives and believes in Me will never die. Do you believe this?”
“Where have you put him?”
Jesus wept.
I don’t need some pastor, scholar, theologian to tell me what Jesus meant! I’ll let Jesus Himself and the Holy Spirit tell me what He meant.
It is necessary to believe in the Jesus of Scripture.
Making one up and making him the non-virgin born half brother of Satan, for example, or claiming he’s really Michael the archangel, well, that Jesus is not going to be able to save anyone as he’s a false Jesus.
To be a christian and not a heretic, one must believe that Jesua was God Himself in the flesh, incarnate.
Sorry but this article, as is most from the ‘Christian” Post, is wrong.
Satan and all his minions believe what this author states as being sufficient for salvation. They all know God exist and that Jesus exist and rose from the dead.
You also have to accept Jesus as your Lord and savior with all that that entails. Accepting the 10 commandments and that Bible in the inerrant word of God written by man but inspired by God.
Son of God
Born of a Virgin
Nature as Lord Divinely revealed
Crucified as Lamb of God for our sins
Rose from the dead and appeared to witnesses
It is important that belief entails sincere repentance. You can not have one without the other. Further, when we are called to believe unto Jesus it doesn’t just mean believing IN Jesus but believing Jesus - everything he taught and said.
