Ravi Zacharias International Ministries intends to change the name of the organization following the release of an investigative report last month indicating that the Christian apologist was accused of “sexting, unwanted touching, spiritual abuse, and rape."
In a statement Saturday, RZIM CEO and Zacharias' daughter, Sarah Davis, provided what she described as the first of periodic updates highlighting the “steps we are taking as we seek to walk a path of repentance, restitution, learning, and serving.”
“We are in the process of taking down Ravi’s content from our website and social media platforms, including publications, videos, and other forms of content, and we intend to change the name of the organization,Effective immediately, we are also discontinuing the use of ‘The Zacharias Institute’ brand.”
...“We continue to grieve deeply for the victims who have been treated in ways that are completely antithetical to the gospel,” Davis stressed. “We also painfully and increasingly recognize organizational failures that have occurred and the repentance that needs to take place in both heart and action.”
...The in-depth report conducted by Miller & Martin details shocking allegations against the late Christian apologist, who died last May at 74.
The report includes interviews with over a dozen massage therapists who treated Zacharias over the years. Zacharias is said to have asked therapists to touch his genitals. He was also accused of touching them inappropriately.
One massage therapist “reported details of many encounters over a period of years that she described as rape,” the report relayed.
"Only one of the witnesses we interviewed said that Mr. Zacharias engaged in sexual intercourse," the report states. "This witness reported details of many encounters over a period of years that she described as rape. To protect her identity, this report does not disclose many of the details she shared with us."

I don’t know this guy or ever heard of him, but I get annoyed whenever some journalist uses the word ‘apologist’ to describe anybody they don’t like................
It’s probably a good idea to change the name.
That said, so far there are only allegations. I’m a big fan of “innocent until proven guilty,” whether in a real courthouse or the court of public opinion.
Yes it’s all true. Phones, texts, all of it.
He was technically an apologist, though. That was his primary ministry.
“...they haven’t actually proven anything yet, have they?”
Evidently, yes, since his own daughter accepts the allegations as established.
Yes, it has pretty much been proven through law/investigative firm hired by RZIM. Multiple accusations/witnesses across multiple continents.
When the accusations are the same with no collaboration between witnesses the chances of them being true grows.
(Z. had a mistress in Taiwan. They had apartments in the same building.)
This has been going on for awhile.
I have watched hours of RZIM videos. It saddens me to have to face the fact that these allegations are true. Internal ministry investigations have proven the charges. I’m particularly concerned for his family.
Ravi WAS an apologist. A Christian apologist. It is actually a thing. Not a cut down. An apologist is a defender of the beliefs. Francis Schaeffer was one.
It doesn’t look good from what I’ve read....but I wasn’t there
I’m suspect of #metoo on anything even Cuomo...where I think it’s just an excuse to deflect from the nursing homes fiasco
But this preacher...it looks bad
His ministry owned massage parlors or spas in Atlanta and he frequented such joints around the world especially Thailand
After allegations had been made for years and he died..his ministry hired a legal firm to handle the investigation and what to do
They discovered yes he was a naughty boy
So these women will get $$ from his coffers
And freeper zealots will cry foul
I’m not sure I was not there but it hardly looks baseless from here
I will disclose I’m not a televangelist sort though I respect the Graham folks but they too have detractors
I’ve seen them operate in Haiti and they were stewards of assistance no question...with not as many perks or gold toliets and their aircraft are for humanitarian aid or they charter
Unlike say Osteen
It makes it sound bad, though...................
Maybe, but that word has been used a long time.
HE owned massage parlors, not the ministry. They gave him too much of a free hand with no accountability.
Yes, but it makes it sound like a bad thing..............
The author could have used ‘defender’ or similar.................
That is very, very sad. Ravi Zacharias and all the pastors are turning people away from Christianity
I have no idea who this man was but it seems people are spending too much time worrying about him now. I would suggest you check out every person who worked closely with him. Someone should have detected something wrong simply by the discernment of God.
He is getting more attention than Jesus and a lot of hand ringing. I imagine the whole organization is based on him and not Jesus. So there is your problem.
bump
The third party investigation had texts, pics, and a lot of evidence.
Board sat on it till Ravi was dead.
Sad. I liked Ravi. Really did. But the man ran a bunch of massage parlors, abused some of the staff, and the board sat on it rather than confront him.
He may not have been born again
