The former commission Ecclesia Dei which was established in 1988 for the Old Liturgy, and turned into a section of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith in January 2019 is going to disappear definitely in October, writes MarcoTosatti.com (September 10).
The section is currently led by French Monsignor Patrick Descourtieux. Tosatti considers this a step towards dismantling the Motu Proprio Summorum Pontificum.
One consequence will be that Old Rite communities will end up under the authority of the Congregation for the Religious lead by Cardinal João Braz De Aviz who is known as a killer of religious communities.
For the record, the “extraordinary form” is the Mass that was celebrated for almost a thousand years; the mass that his Holiness of blessed memory Pope Saint Pius V, in his bull Quo Primum, authorised all ordained priests to celebrate, in perpetuity. It is part of the Depositum Fidei.
And note that the new “masses” sanctioned by Vatican II are not conformant either with the Magisterium or with Holy Scripture. They state, explicitly, that the Blood of Christ was shed “pro omnes, whereas Jesus said “pro multis (’peri pollo:n’ in the Gospel of Matthew). Those are the words of institution, and unless the priest at the consecration says those exact same words, he no longer stands in persona Christi, and the sacrament is invalid.
I am old enough to remember Vatican II, and my opinion now is the same as it was then: “Hodie infusum est venenum in ecclesia Dei”. Dominus vobiscum.

(In fact look up works by the reverend Fr. Anthony Cekada including on U-Tube; he is a pillar of faith and wisdom. May he R.I.P.)
Untrue. The (awful) English translation pre-2011 said "for all". The Latin has never said anything but "pro multis". See link for example. (Be prepared to scroll down a long way.)
I suspect all ICKSP and FSSP.
Damn the "ecclesia dei", damn the "indults", damn the moto propio, "SUMMORUM PONTIFICUM", full speed ahead with with francis' "mercy church", along with his new "Our Father" and "Gloria".
True. This could affect any/all of the diocesan TLM’s as well, but they aren’t technically the “ED”/indult TLM’s.
But how many bishops are violating “Summorum Pontificum” now and how many more will be encouraged to do so? It’s obvious Bergoglio has no respect for canon law, even before he changes it to his own liking.
Pope Francis did make the comment that he may go down in history as having split the Church.
This will drive trads to the sspx, but maybe pope does not care because he sees it as a small number, worth losing to stop the growth of the TLM.
Francis did boast how he may go down in history as having split the Church. Too bad he's on the schismatic side.
Thank you for your comment. It was a long time ago when had my first communion, but the prayer book is right here in my library, and it indeed says “for many”. Of course, there may have been some other version out there, bit that is the book my headmaster gave me when I graduated from high school.
