Teleios compared Native American tribes versus American colonial settlements to determine societal structure that would potentially affect wellbeing. We found that for government structure all tribes and colonial settlements had an identified leader in each case. However, colonial settlements more often possessed an associated bureaucracy to help administrate the region. In addition, colonial settlements typically developed identifiable cities with organizational signs like local government, farms, businesses, trade, centers of worship, public works (roads, bridges, port facilities) and education, which were not apparent in native tribes. Christian religion among the colonies in each case encouraged peace whereas the tribal religion was less likely to discourage conflict. Further, native tribes were more apt to raid other tribes whereas colonists in each case developed and maintained peaceful relationships, including open trade and alliances, with other colonial communities. In summary, this research suggests that a society based in biblical principles more often is associated with use of restraint in conflict resolution and peace between communities, while building a society that creates positive institutions for its people, adding to the growing evidence of the utility of Christianity to societies now and historically. But, but what about multiculturalism? What about Native Rights to freely attack their neighbors? (See Comancheria as one example of intra-Amerindian conflict!)
The world continuously benefits from Christianity. In my opinion it most accurately shows how God wants us to behave.
And so started the journey of the the little white church, little red schoolhouse, and the blue lodge (Freemasons) across our lands ... civility, the secret of old white men’s success.
