We often hear that evangelical support for President Trump is hurting our witness here in America. Is it hurting our witness overseas as well?
In a follow-up to Christianity Today’s editorial by Mark Galli calling for the removal of President Trump, CT president Timothy Dalrymple noted, “We are also a global ministry” and “partly on behalf of that global body, we can no longer stay silent.” Is it true, then, that American evangelical support for Trump is hurting our international witness?

All Christians everywhere should support such a politician.
I have read a new editorial published by Christianity Today that promotes impeachment of President Donald Trump. The editors didn't tell us who should take his place in the aftermath. Maybe the magazine would prefer a president who is passionately pro-abortion, anti-family, hostile to the military, dispassionate toward Israel, supports a socialist form of government, promotes confiscatory taxation, opposes school choice, favors men in women's sports and boys in girl's locker rooms, promotes the entire LGBTQ agenda, opposes parental rights, and distrusts evangelicals and anyone who is not politically correct. By the way, after Christianity Today has helped vacate the Oval Office, I hope they will tell us if their candidate to replace Mr. Trump will fight for religious liberty and the Bill of Rights? Give your readers a little more clarity on why President Trump should be turned out of office after being duly elected by 63 million voters? Is it really because he made a phone call that displeased you? There must be more to your argument than that. While Christianity Today is making its case for impeachment, I hope the editors will now tell us who they support for president among the Democrat field. That should tell us the rest of the story.
The people telling us this support Hillary, Buttigig, Biden, Obama, etc. But please, do tell me more about Trump’s sinful ways.

Politics is not Christianity. Jesus refused to become a political leader, and that was a contributing factor to his unpopularity in some circles and his eventual crucifixion.
We do live in the world though, and we do have to pick a side. One one side is the rise of China and weakening of the United States. We do not live in a vacuum. A weakened United States will face some unpleasant consequences for being in a weakened condition. No man or woman will escape these consequences. There are people who desire the profits they imagine they will get away with as a result of selling our country’s future. I don’t have a high opinion of these people. I also don’t have a high opinion of the CCP who is currently attempting to bully and terrorize Hong Kong into line. I don’t like Leftists, the ones I’ve met won’t leave people alone until they become idolaters who elevate political adherence to an ever changing set of standards above family, friends, all those relationships, work, and anything else hat can be subverted to the “cause.”
I like Liberals just fine. Liberals are not idolaters who won’t rest until everyone else is an idolator too.
I do think that the people who are assailing evangelicals for continuing to support Trump are failing to take into account the problem of evil, obsession, idolatry on the side of the people who despise deplorables and Donald J. Trump. Big old logs in their eyes as they attempt to point out other people’s motes.
