The organization says it protects the Constitutional principals of the separation of church and state. The Dallas County DA defended the judge's actions.

The Freedom From Religion Foundation, is a religion, by itself.
Is atheist extraordinaire Michael Newdow still part of that racket? I wonder of that fool realizes where his very name comes from, “Mica El”, an ancient Hebrew phrase meaning “is there any G-D mightier than ours?”. So, just saying his name is to acknowledge the existence of a just, loving all powerful G-D.
As far as I can tell, court was no longer in session and this was personal, not part of any proceedings. The complaint has no merit, and is nothing more than harassment of Judge Kemp for her faith.
A made up organization for a made up cause.
Are the media going to be all over this unjustified harassment of a Black woman?
That was an extraordinarily powerful moment, when the victim’s brother walked up and hugged the officer.
I would almost want to say it was Divine.
I think the judge felt it too, and just got carried away with the moment. As another poster said, this was after court was no longer in session, so she (Her Honor) should not be in any trouble.
They can go to he!! now at their own hand or wait until God throws them into the pit of fire. Either way, they are doomed.
Sentence was handed down by the jury. If court was then adjourned, then what happened was a private matter. The family, which I assume are believing Christians, forgave Amber. That is in the spiritual realm. If Amber Guyger was truly repentant, and assuming the judge iss also a Christian, the judge also discerned true remorse and repentance, then in the eyes of God the judge was correct in her actions and in giving her a Bible. The earthly penalty must be paid, but outside of that Kingdom values must apply. Remember, one thief on the cross said he was getting what he deserved, and that Christ was innocent. Christ said “This day you will be with me in Paradise”. It is finished.
I’ve bet people $100 if they can find the words ‘separation of church and state’ in the Constitution. Never had any takers.
I think it was personal. The jury was not there and everyone left after the brother spoke. People are so hateful. Why are they so afraid the Bible?
... it protects the Constitutional principals of the separation of church and state.”
Yeah, that’s a Constitutional principal - it’s found in the Constitution of the former Soviet Union. There is absolutely nothing in the Constitution of the United States that requires the removal of religious practice and symbolism by our government. We let these cretins repeat this lie over and over again, it’s time for that to stop.
The First amendment states “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof”. Is there any question that these “Freedom From Religion” a-holes are prohibiting the free exercise of religion?
Can’t have religion but you can have anti-religion?
Freedom from religion here really means no freedom of religion. These people are obviously communists. Unless mandated by the state, except for Islam, religions dont force themselves upon you. In a free country, you just choose not to be a believer.
Oh, but they would be fawning with praise if she had given a Koran or the Egyptian Book of the Dead.
“If you choose not to decide you still have made a choice...”.
I doubt if the Freedom From Religion Foundation would have complained if she gave her a Koran.
