Francis Claims: Golgotha Was "Complete Denial" Of Gods Promise
Our Lady faced on Golgotha the "complete denial" of the angel Gabriel's promise that her son would be given the throne of David, Pope Francis palavered during his Palm Sunday homily (April 14).
It seems that Francis was projecting his own
doubts into the Mother of God whom the events did not take by surprise because Christ had announced them beforehand.
She therefore saw Golgotha as part of the fulfillment of Gabriel's promises, not as their denial, and knew that the Old Testament had announced that the Messia would appear as the Suffering Servant.

Our Lady faced on Golgotha the "complete denial" of the angel Gabriel's promise that her son would be given the throne of David It may have seemed that way to someone lacking in Faith. Even someone with the fullness of Faith might not have known how you get from Calvary to the Throne of David ... but someone with the fullness of Faith would have been certain of that outcome.
Our Blessed Mother had the fullness of Faith.

The old joke was “is the pope Catholic?”. Now there seems to be some question whether or not he’s even christian.

The whole quote:
"On Golgotha, Mary faced the complete denial of that promise: her Son was dying on a cross like a criminal. In this way, triumphalism, destroyed by the abasement of Jesus, was likewise destroyed in the heart of his Mother."
So, he's saying she had triumphalism in her heart.
Of all people, Mary.
What an idiot. What a heretic.

I don’t think so. If one is looking for a close debate about something being a denial of God’s promise, I’d suggest that the results of the last conclave might be a better topic, but in the end, I believe that the negative side of the proposition will prevail. God is faithful, and is great. Beer is good. And PopeL are crazy.

“And Simeon blessed them, and said to Mary his mother: Behold this child is set for the fall, and for the resurrection of many in Israel, and for a sign which shall be contradicted; And thy own soul a sword shall pierce, that, out of many hearts, thoughts may be revealed.”

I use as a secondary source in a course textbook whose editor a gent who in an interview explained that he was raised Catholic and then he became a Jesuit. I’d almost feel guilty for using the book as what amounts to a straw-man except that it is recognized as a leading textbook by leaders in the field.
I believe that it was Father Neuhaus who commented that an intellectual sea-change had happened when he first saw the adjective “Jesuitical” used as something approaching a synonym for “stupid.” I don’t remember the quotation, but that was the gist of it.

“Faced” not “believed.”
What Pope Francis actually said”
Yet only from that night do we see the dawn of the resurrection break forth. At the foot of the cross, Mary thought once more of the words that the angel had spoken about her Son: He will be great
The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David, and he will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of his kingdom there will be no end (Lk 1:32-33). On Golgotha, Mary faced the complete denial of that promise: her Son was dying on a cross like a criminal. In this way, triumphalism, destroyed by the abasement of Jesus, was likewise destroyed in the heart of his Mother.

OK—
Good for reading. What he said was not actually heretical—merely, in the words of good old-fashioned dogmatic theology—”ill sounding to pious ears.”

So this pope is claiming that Jesus failed in His mission? What is next, this pretender pope denies the Divinity of Jesus Christ? This pretender pope is a heretic.

He still said the Blessed Mother held “triumphalism” in Her heart.
Do you believe that of the Immaculate Conception?

Who said “believed”?
The article correctly quotes Bergoglio as saying “faced”.

Actually, after reading post 5, I should practice my reading. I also pulled down my copy of Ott’s Fundamentals of Catholic Dogma for my tri-annual look at the 20+ degrees of Theological Certainty/Theological censure that run from fides divina to propositio haeretica. Offensive to Pious ears is not quite near the middle, as I had thought, but solidly in the midst of the third quartile from the top, which also includes:
Propositions exciting scandal; Captious (Ambiguous) Proposition; Proposition Badly Expressed (i.e. subject to misunderstanding) and a Temerarious Proposition—deviating without reason from the general teaching.

Was Mary ignorant of the role her son and the son of God was assigned to play on earth?
To: Bookshelf
Mary may have faced it but overcame it pretty easily when she saw her risen Son in Glory, and heard about Stephens seeing Him sitting at the right hand of God His Father. Jesus made it clear in speaking to Pilate, “My kingdom is not of this world”.
Realize that Mary had seen an angel, was a virgin that was pregnant, heard her cousin Elizabeth exclaim that John in her womb lept at her voice and let Mary know that she was the mother of her Lord, even before He was born. She saw Him at the temple expounding the Scriptures to the wise elders of the temple. She saw Him turn water into wine and on and on. Do you think it would be possible for her to doubt the eternal nature of His Kingship. I don’t think so.

Of COURSE Poop Francois, Pirater of Butts, would deny Mary, the Mother of God, her fulfillment.
