It may have seemed that way to someone lacking in Faith. Even someone with the fullness of Faith might not have known how you get from Calvary to the Throne of David ... but someone with the fullness of Faith would have been certain of that outcome.
Our Blessed Mother had the fullness of Faith.

If one is looking for a close debate about something being a denial of God’s promise, I’d suggest that the results of the last conclave might be a better topic, but in the end, I believe that the negative side of the proposition will prevail. God is faithful, and is great. Beer is good. And PopeL are crazy.

Actually, after reading post 5, I should practice my reading. I also pulled down my copy of Ott’s Fundamentals of Catholic Dogma for my tri-annual look at the 20+ degrees of Theological Certainty/Theological censure that run from fides divina to propositio haeretica. Offensive to Pious ears is not quite near the middle, as I had thought, but solidly in the midst of the third quartile from the top,which also includes:
Propositions exciting scandal; Captious (Ambiguous) Proposition; Proposition Badly Expressed (i.e. subject to misunderstanding) and a Temerarious Proposition—deviating without reason from the general teaching.

Was Mary ignorant of the role her son and the son of God was assigned to play on earth?
Mary may have faced it but overcame it pretty easily when she saw her risen Son in Glory, and heard about Stephens seeing Him sitting at the right hand of God His Father. Jesus made it clear in speaking to Pilate, “My kingdom is not of this world”.
Realize that Mary had seen an angel, was a virgin that was pregnant, heard her cousin Elizabeth exclaim that John in her womb lept at her voice and let Mary know that she was the mother of her Lord, even before He was born. She saw Him at the temple expounding the Scriptures to the wise elders of the temple. She saw Him turn water into wine and on and on. Do you think it would be possible for her to doubt the eternal nature of His Kingship. I don’t think so.
