Easy Catechism Understanding prayers to God --- Who alone is to be adored! --- and prayers to saints and angels:
Prayer to God can be defined by the word ACTS:
- A... Adoration... (to God alone)
- C...Contrition... (He alone forgives sins)
- T...Thanksgiving ...(He alone is the giver of all good gifts)
- S...Supplication... (to Him we look for help and salvation)
Prayer to Angels and Saints defined by HI
- H... Honor (God says "Give honor to whom honor is due" and these are His honorable servants/friends)
- I...Intercession....In Christ, because we are all Members of His Body, all alive in Christ and all sharing the same spiritual life in Him.
Two different kinds of prayer, two ways to remember!
