“If the christian God is real they still arent until confirmation when they are old enough to make a decision.”

No, the real duties of a Christian begin at Baptism.

1269 Having become a member of the Church, the person baptized belongs no longer to himself, but to him who died and rose for us.76 From now on, he is called to be subject to others, to serve them in the communion of the Church, and to “obey and submit” to the Church’s leaders,77 holding them in respect and affection.78 Just as Baptism is the source of responsibilities and duties, the baptized person also enjoys rights within the Church: to receive the sacraments, to be nourished with the Word of God and to be sustained by the other spiritual helps of the Church.79

1270 “Reborn as sons of God, [the baptized] must profess before men the faith they have received from God through the Church” and participate in the apostolic and missionary activity of the People of God.80

While I am sure she is an atheist infidel, her position on infant baptism is pretty much what Baptist held to 50-60 years ago. I was Baptised at age 8 only because I just had a long bought with illness and my parents wonderef how long I would be around. Even then I had to answer a bunch of questions to the preacher’s satisfaction.

I think I understand what you're saying, as you were trying to engage with what Mary McAleese meant when she was referencing some quasi-contractual obligations of Catholics.

I agree that it's hard to tell what the halogen she was talking about.

It seems (and this is only a guess) that she thinks of a Catholic as primarily a juridical subject of the Roman See, i.e. as a contracting individual with a relationship with an administration, so to speak, rather than a relationship with God. If this is her notion, that despite all her academic credentials, she doesn't know the first thing about Catholic sacramental belief or practice.

I'm sorry. What a loon.

As I said before, she sound like not so much a "practicing Catholic" as a practical atheist.

Interesting. When I saw Comey was visiting there earlier, I wondered if he might be establishing some roots in case he wants to skip the country to avoid prosecution. If Hillary is there at the same time, there’s something else going on.

She’s on the same page with President a I of Check a, who is outlawing children’s participation in religious events.

It’s also an attack on the family and rights of the parents.

She never had the nerve to reveal her true hatred of Christianity when she was an active politician. She lied. Now that Ireland has embraced gay and abortion she figures “oh good, we’re a proper secular humanist country now, I am free to mock God in public finally”. How within the span of a single generation has Ireland come to this?

She’s right.

Even the Holy Bible says that only believers may be baptized.

Sure, a little sprinkle on the head is going to traumatize them for life.

It was done to me and I absolutely resent it. Because it's just the first step in a process of indoctrination. I was also forced to have communion when I was 10, even though I wanted no part of it and had no idea what was going on. Now I have these morons trying to tell me I'm a catholic for life. No, I'm not! I want no part of your vile evil gutter cult run by homosexuals and pedophiles and headed by a lowlife scumbag Marxist thug. The catholic church has a history so sordid it would make a sociopath blush. So to all you catholics who want to remain a part of this dysfunctional cesspool, don't waste your prayers on me. I totally reject the catholic church and want absolutely nothing to do with it. Thank God catholicism in my family died with my mother.

The terrible and horrible two C’s/Clinton & Comey!

Good!

Hopefully the two C’s will spend a lot of time in worthless liberal countries like Ireland!

Thanks. I was not aware of this. This is typical of the world wide agenda against healthy and proud countries.

“They did not wrest freedom from the strangers. Ever read the Third Amendment to Ireland’s constitution, approved by referendum back in 1972?

The State may become a member of the European Coal and Steel Community (established by Treaty signed at Paris on the 18th day of April, 1951), the European Economic Community (established by Treaty signed at Rome on the 25th day of March, 1957) and the European Atomic Energy Community (established by Treaty signed at Rome on the 25th day of March, 1957).

No provision of this Constitution invalidates laws enacted, acts done or measures adopted by the State necessitated by the obligations of membership of the Communities—or prevents laws enacted, acts done or measures adopted by the Communities, or institutions thereof, from having the force of law in the State. (emphasis mine)

They hand over their sovereignty to the real strangers here, to a foreign empire whose beginnings were planned way back in 1914 in Berlin. Was that what the rebels were fighting for? It does beg the question, since I was always taught that it was a struggle for independence, but to throw it away so lightly speaks to a different agenda.
