"According to morality, biology, and Christianity, contraception is completely unacceptable"
Fr. Dmitry Smirnov is hugely popular Moscow priest, who advocates large families and home-schooling. He is the head of the Russian Church's Committee for Family, Motherhood, and Children.
He is known for his outspokenness about issues such LGBT and abortion. And, as it turns out, his hard line extends to contraception.
Methodically making his way through an array of arguments, Fr Dmitry states that "any contraception at all is a perversion of human nature" and that contraception is essentially "equivalent to abortion.:
You don't have to agree in order to appreciate some of the points he brings up in his signature point-blank manner.
Well, here goes:

Let us reason together. This is a very important subject. When people marry, it is expected that they want to create a family. And when creating a family, it is expected that, if possible, there will be children. Just imagine: We arrive in some sort of eating establishment - in a pizzeria or a restaurant. We sit at a table. It is expected that we are now going to eat. And eating is for the purpose of sustaining life. This is the first law which God gave to man: "Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth.
So a contraceptive, whether it is a drug or a device, is something which prevents a person from fulfilling this command. If we continue the analogy with food, it is as if we arrive at the restaurant, and in front of it, lets assume we cut our own throats. Or like in ancient Greek feasts, we eat food, and afterwards use a feather to tickle the back of the throat, so that we throw up everything. Then we start all over again.

nothing wrong with big families
Good.
The other day at home depot the check out girl had an Interesting name it was Saran I asked her about it she said her parents were using saran wrap as a condom and it dint work very good so they named her Saran what heartwarming story thought I’d share
I asked a woman at work how she got her name, Decca.
She said the first thing her mother saw when she found
out she was pregnant was the record player. My eyes
get all teared up when I think of how much loving
foresight parents invest in picking a name their child
will live all its live with. Sniff.
Russian Christianity has made a tremendous resurgence. They actually understand and declare the religious war with mohammedans.
Hmm, let’s compare the Western Protestant way of raising a family vs South American Catholic, Middle Eastern Islamic, or statist welfare mom, and see which has a better outcome ... (and of course NO abortions)
I agree with much of what he says. I think couples can have a large family and still use birth control to keep the large family at six or eight and not 12 or 14. Plus there is a prudent cut off age for pregnancy: 35 according to the March of Dimes and 38 or 40 according to most others.
Older couples are more likely to be successful with natural birth control such as withdrawal and/or rhythm. A woman after menopause will probably still have an interest in sex and then her post-menopause condition is the birth control and the sex has nothing to do with procreation. But the Bible advises that couples are to be one flesh without caveats. Nowhere does it advise that ONLY procreation is the reason for copulation.
Why is this article in “Religion” when it has news value beyond that?
When much of Europe has 1.7 children per woman it is an economic, political, and cultural issue as well.
Yes, the Bible advises that couples are to be one flesh without impediments to procreation.
Though I am not Catholic, I once respected that Church for standing for Biblical teaching on birth control and families. God's judgement is often no more than the consequence of our own sin. The West will die with a whimper.
**Contraception Destroys the Individual, Family and Nation**
So true in the United States.
Everyone needs to read Humanae Vitae.
Just wondering how many body piercings she had.
Oh I agree the March of Dimes are in the enemy camp but not all their guidelines for expectant mothers are worthless...not drinking alcohol and so forth. They advise women to have their first child by 28 and their last child by 35. With good spacing that still allows for having four children if the mother starts at age 27.
Instead of using birth control — use Natural Family Planning.

As a young man, I briefly had a job at the airport, slinging bags on and off airplanes.
We were told to stand away from the nose of the airplane when it was testing its radar. When I saw some guys purposely stand directly in front of it, I asked why. I was told that it killed sperm, and then they wouldn’t need any birth control
