Francis, Spadaro, and Annett should keep in mind what happened when Cardinal Mahony tried to take EWTN away from Mother Angelica. JPII and God both made it plain as day whose side they were on. And it wasn't Mahony's.

"Anthony Annett, Assistant to the Director at the International Monetary Fund’s Communications Department"

I have no more info or insight on this than anyone else, but it seems we have someone with no power to do anything but edit a glorified twice-a-month Jebbie newsletter with a circulation of 15,000 (La Civiltà Cattolica) retweeting a tweet from someone with no power to do anything.

I mean, c'mon, the IMF's assistant PR man? *snort*

A couple sillies-on-stilts with twitchy twitter fingers. That's all.

I'm gonna go cook some lentils.

Have a Good Lent.

This makes the whole “loyalty to the person of Pope Francis” being pushed by him all the more alarming.

So when does it reach the point when the occupant of the Chair of Peter tells Catholics that they have a choice between loyalty to him, thus having to discard “old outmoded beliefs”, i.e. Christianity?
Note: I am not a Catholic, however, this is not to be confused with theological differences I might have, which pale versus the Big Picture. Even as an outsider, I have great respect for EWTN, Mother Angelica, and Raymond Arroyo, and their work. Francis is selling out the Catholic Church.

Spadaro probably doesn’t want to rile up the American Catholic faithful. EWTN is the only source seriously Catholics have on tv and radio in the USA. Messing with this treasure is a mistake.

Orthodox, Traditionalists and NO Catholics view EWTN, and appreciate that EWTN does inform these different practices rather nicely and fairly.

Raymond Oroyo is no mouthpiece for those reshaping the Church of the ages. That is the real rub for this pope and his gay mafia running the Vatican.

Arroyo is hardly a polarizing figure. I doubt he said anything contrary to Church tradition.

Not Catholic, but I respect EWTN.

Same here, and a great admirer of Mother Angelica. I’ve even sent donations.

“Same here, and a great admirer of Mother Angelica. I’ve even sent donations.”

She was funny and tough. I enjoy catching Fulton Sheen reruns when I can.
Relevant Radio (Catholic) is also good listening much of the time, except during their long pledge drives.

Remember this was tried already on Voris in an article by Spadaro/Figueroa? Result: pope was laughing-stock as this ridiculous article flew around the world. It bashed Trump, Church Militant, Evangelicals, and just showed the ignorance and hatred of USA this pope has displayed in big ways and small.

Also fyi, ignore titles, they have no meaning anymore in Vatican. Go by power not titles. It’s not a corporation. It’s a secret, intimate men’s club.

You are greatly mistaken with what you are saying with respect to the SSPX. You are repeating false rumors that are being circulated by the SSPX-Resistance crowd (Bishop Williamson and the SSPV), the Modernist leaders in Rome, and just simply uninformed individuals who are willing to pass on unsubstantiated rumors.

Respectfully, you should read what the SSPX, itself, has to say on the topic of any reconciliation with Rome. In short, they are 100% opposed to any reconciliation that is not accompanied with Rome accepting ALL of the true teachings of the Church.

Without question, that would include a rejection of Vatican II and the Novus Ordo Mass. They also recognize that such a condition is unlikely under current conditions, but they are not changing.

The attached sites are easy reads prepared by the SSPX and they spell out all that I’ve said and more in specific detail.

Look: EWTN is the largest religious media network in the world. According to Wikipedia, its programming reaches more than 250 million homes in 140 countries and territories. On YouTube and other social media platforms EWTN has more than 1,000,000 active followers and online viewers. EWTN’s website is viewed 2-4 million times each month.

And their influence is spread even further through the National Catholic Register and especially Catholic News Service, which is the major news pipeline for Catholic diocesan newspapers and is a go-to source for the seculars as well.

Comparison: Spadaro's Civilta Cattolica has a circulation of 15,000.

As I said before, *snort*

I suppose Spadaro looks down his nose on EWTN, because his clientele is the elite: the Jebbies and their fanboys inside the Leonine Walls.

But EWTN has the pewsitter Catholics. And they've proven they WILL fight.

I don't think EWTN has anything to worry about.

What person did Jesus ex-communicate? or censure?
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Was that just a rhetorical question?

According to the Gospels, Jesus told the Sadducees and the Pharisees that they had no part in the Kingdom of Heaven.

Not saying the EWTN is in that category. (On the contrary) I met Mother Angelica over a few days in the early 1980s right around the time she founded EWTN.

She is the real deal and loves Jesus.

Lavender Mafia coming after EWTN. Queers and global warming crackpots trying their best to destroy what’s left of the Catholic Church. Leftists like Francis and his cohorts are the reason Mother Angelica had a stroke.

<< “ I doubt he said anything contrary to Church tradition.” >>

THAT is the exact problem, for them. You named it. Raymond Arroyo said nothing contrary to Tradition.

Contrary to Tradition is this regime’s biggest hit, their main theme, their bread and butter, their stock and trade, their golden parachute, to popularity ratings among the Marxists particularly, but the perverts, the cafeteria Catholics, any and all who will happily continue to watch the further dissolution of the Church of the ages and her Tradition of the Gospel, her piety and practices.

You said it, in a nutshell.

Father Gerald Murray would give up the priesthood before he quit telling the truth. He’s a canon lawyer and theologician and has said a hundred times over that the Catholic faithful are under no obligation to follow any pope unless they follow the authentic teachings of the Catholic Church as handed down for the last 2,000 years. Popes are nothing but caretakers of Catholic doctrine. They can no more change it than I can. IGNORE Francis the Destroyer and his Jusuit heretics.
