A couple of days ago, I went to Fr. Martin’s FB page and posted a straightforward question: “What exactly are your long-term goals for gay Catholics? Since the Church is never going to let men marry men or women marry women, aren’t you leading these people on?” Martin didn’t answer my question, although he didn’t delete it, either, which I’ll give him points for. (Interestingly, a former Catholic, who is a man who now “married” to a man, “liked” my comment. I guess there are a few active homosexuals who see through Fr. Martin’s pandering.)

Time for the second reformation? Our Savior was a Jew. He did not intend to start a Christian church. His goal was to fulfill His promise and lead the flock along the proper path. But, in the eyes of Jewish church, he could not in a religious sense remain a Jew. Martin Luther was a Catholic. He did not intend to start a Lutheran church. He only sought to correct the Biblical errors within his own church. But in the eyes of the Catholic church, he could not in a religious sense remain a Catholic. If Jesus could not remain a Jew, and Martin Luther could not remain a Catholic, then perhaps the answer to your question may be "one does not"? It is the same question in a religious context that we struggle with in a political context as we question whether the GOP can be saved, or should a new party emerge. The point is, we can't stop them from doubling-down on stupid, they can't stop us from exodus, we'll do what we feel is right whether others like it or not, and we'll be judged for our action, or lack of action, accordingly.

I don't buy the notion that Christ can only change the fallen nature of some sinners but not homosexuals or alcoholics. Jesus said if you lust in your heart, you're an adulterer. If you hate your brother, you're a murderer. If you're a homosexual in your heart - you're a homosexual.

Jesus is in the heart changing business. A person with homosexual behavior or lusts can be transformed into the saved person God made them to be - if he/she cooperates and allows Christ to work in their heart. We seem to think that our God is limited in who He can save and deliver - He's not!
