I Know What the Bible Says, But!

A parable is a simple story conveying a moral or spiritual lesson. We often don’t like direct confrontation, thus God uses parables to open our eyes. Self examination is very healthy.

I recently heard a contemporary parable that is also a true story. A young girl, devastated by the choice her father made to leave her family for a younger woman, had a nightmare following his announcement. She dreamt that she, her mother and sister all died in a horrific car accident. When she told her dad about the dream, he simply replied, “I’m sorry to hear that. I’m glad it was only a dream.” Her response searched his soul, “Dad, right before we were hit, I looked through the window and saw that you were driving the other car.”

This broke the man. He repented and restored his marriage. Some of you reading this may need to examine yourself. This may be exactly what you’re doing to your family. But pride and spiritual blindness are preventing you from seeing it (men and women).

Another great article. It said the occult is the fastest growing “religion” which I found hard to believe. I do recall witches were calling some curse against POTUS Trump but I don’t recall the details. I just have a hard time accepting this is becoming the norm.

I got halfway through and thought about it (I’ll finish but need to write this). My circumstances are all consequences of my decisions. I keep seeing the “when you see one set of footprints” pictures and know that there should ALWAYS be one set of prints because Jesus is to be our point man as we walk through the mine field and we are to walk in His steps. When there are two sets, the other set goes off to the right or the left or backward.

Even my old aches and pains are from lack of faith and stress. I’m working on it all. Since the good die young I’ll live to be 110.

The soft non-offending teachings today are whispers of lies. Remember the fig tree with no fruit? DEAD. Time to read James again. We are in a great spiritual war. Satan is winning on so many fronts, especially child sacrifice.

Question, would an economic crash be a good thing? How different would today be if Martin Luther King had brought people back to the Lord in a revival instead of a civil rights movement? Just wondering.

"And he spake many things unto them in parables, saying,
Behold, a sower went forth to sow; . . .

And the disciples came, and said unto him,
Why speakest thou unto them in parables?

He answered and said unto them,
Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven,
but to them it is not given . . .

Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand
" (Mt. 13:3,10,11,13 AV).

======

The nugget here is that, like a bright searchlight that pierces the dark of midnight, a parable clearly identifies those who do not have the indwelling Spirit of Christ to guide them. Here is another parable that guides some and not others:

=======

"And Jesus said unto them,
I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst . . .

Verily, verily, I say unto you, 'Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you'
" (Jn. 6:35,53b,c,d AV).

========

There are those who cannot and will not understand the import of figurative-literal language, and thus wrongly interpret.

I’m reminded of Nathan to David. “You are that man”!

We’re spoiled with the Christian heritage that we grew up with.

It’s not the norm for us, but I think it’s been the norm for most of humanity for most of its history.

Some good questions.

And no easy answers.

In some respects, we are all *that man*.

God looks on the heart and that’s where sin is conceived before being given birth in the actions.

By the time the sin is acted on, it’s long ago been committed.

Oh; the thread title does pretty well on it's own:
