Church bells ring out in the Iraqi town of Bartella for the first time in years.
As Iraqi forces continue their offensive against the ISIS-held city of Mosul, reports and images of the re-capturing of a string of villages and towns outside the city have hit the international media.
Video aired on France 24 shows a group of Christian militia fighters from Bartella, a town 13 miles east of Mosul, returning home after having been driven out by ISIS two years ago. Their first actions on entering their village? Erecting a cross, ringing the church bells for the first time since ISIS took over, and kneeling in prayer inside their desecrated church.

Yeah team!
amen
AMEN AMEN
Praise the Lord.
Thank you, Lord!
I am not a Christian but the peace and serenity that exudes from this man can be felt & understood by anyone. He never actively mentions his beliefs but I hear it, in everything he says - to me and anyone else.
He is successful and spends his money, his labor & talents, helping others, here, regardless of their faith.
I've been having a rough go of it, these past months. We spoke of Family & things for not more than 20 minutes; I still, am elated, I don't know why. These Men just solidified the feeling into words.
Sweet.
That’s great, but can they hold them?
Found myself singing: Gloria in excelsis Deo - Amen
Obama will send in the bombers now.
And not for ISIS
That is the feeling you get from being around true Christians, one that lives his religion by his works and his words.
Think hard about it.
So we import the terrorists that chased the Christians out and leave the Christians to try to survive in the midst of these swine.
I thought we were supporting Islamic freedom fighters, not Christians. Bearing a cross. Aren’t they like the KKK or something. I just get so confused. Could I get an update from the White Hut telling me which side I am supposed to be on.
While you’re sitting on your cushy pew tomorrow (Sunday), say a prayer for these brave lions of Christ.
AMEN The Crusades will never end..
For my stubborn defensiveness, my path I've chosen, and for my failures that are mine alone, I shall not welcome that, I cannot welcome or accept Him into my life.
I'll stand with Christains in defense and honor but I'll stand alone, for all time.
That’s powerful!
That is the presence of God you sense.
That's what Christians are supposed to be like, not like what you see for the most part here in America.
Whatever the reason you have for not being a Christian, please consider what you see in this man and know that it can be for you too.
