Many Christians have found themselves outside of God’s will, trapped in sin, doubt, and defeat. It’s time for Christians to anchor themselves in the Word of God.

Drifting is a slow process of change that occurs over time. We’re not usually aware of it until the change becomes great enough to notice. Then we suddenly wonder what has happened. Drifting can occur in a nation when it moves away from its foundational principles or in our individual lives if we do not pay close attention to what we have heard concerning the Word of God (Heb. 2:1).
How are we drifting?
With the current of immorality With the current of financial debt With the current of political confusion With the current of liberal teaching in the church
Why do believers drift?
We allow ourselves to slowly depart from the Word of God. The longer we let ourselves drift, the faster we go.
How do we stop drifting?
Make a decision not to live this way any longer. By God’s grace, power, and mercy desire to become who He wants us to be. Be willing to change. Ask God to change us.
What are signs of drifting?
Loss of desire for the Word of God Loss of desire to pray Loss of desire to give Loss of desire to talk to others about Jesus Loss of the awareness of God’s presence Increased desire for the world’s ways
Consequences of drifting
Depart from God’s will and enter into sin Miss God’s best for our lives Grieve the heart of God Develop hardening toward God and softening toward sin
How to recover from drifting
Realize that you are drifting. Repent by asking God to forgive you and turning back to obedience. Return to an attitude of submission to God.

We are more focused on being “good” than being Christian.
Cool. I watched Dr. Charles Stanley give this message last night. For a while at the beginning he sounded like he was emotionally charged as in having a catch in his throat while he was speaking. His sermon lasted almost an hour.
Both Mrs. Resettozero and I commented on that at the time we saw/heard the sermon and wondered.

There are two versions. One is an hour long and the other online version of the sermon has been edited for the half-hour In Touch program.
Recommend the hour-version, if you can find In Touch on TV, since I’ve watched both. The full-length sermon is not available online yet but via broadcast only.

This has happened, is happening and will happen to many who are on FR, too.

Have allowed myself to lean back and drift in the canoe far too often. And to take anonymous pot shots at those on the riverbank as I drift past.
I think it happens to all of us at one time in our lives, and then something wakes us up and we get to work on improving our relationships with God, family and friends.
I agree as I have been struggling with this myself. Very well put. I fell into a deep depression several years ago and one bad thing after another keeps happening and when it does I sort of self implode. It’s like I’m living inside my head with these negative thought that just go on and on. It’s really a type of self centeredness.
But I keep scratching and clawing my way back. I’m trying. But the oppression is real and powerful.
