The “Rock ‘n’ Roll Rabbi” has only been there for a year.
I tend to believe the Temple. Protesting Trump was probably considered something in his favor.
Not always liberal. The Conservative branch covers a spectrum from not quite as liberal as the Reformed to bordering on Orthodox. The latter tends to be politically conservative. I have a few friends who are members of a conservative synagogue, including the cantor there. Disclosure statement: I’m a goy (southern baptist, goyim goyim gone).

Being at AIPAC, at all, says to me that he’s not exactly a liberal.
Perhaps he knew he was on his way out, and decided to pull this stunt?
It's been done before, although not as nuanced. That is, it can be labelled as political speech, not as a fraudulent, self-inflicted, "hate" crime.

Yeah, it’s difficult these days to judge solely by the movement. One of the craziest diehard libs is Orthodox bordering on ultra-orthodox, while a fellow conservative attends a social justice Reform synagogue.
