It was God Himself who ordained that man eat animals. Why? Every time we eat an animal, we are confronted with the fact that something has to die for us to live. A physical type of a spiritual reality. To save us from our fallen state, God came down and took the punishment that we deserve on the cross. We also remember this sacrificial love of our God each time we receive Holy Communion by acknowledging that we are sustained by His body broken for us, and His blood shed for our sins. Cain, the brother of Abel, firstborn son of Adam and Eve heard the oft repeated story of how his parents broke faith with God and sinned. He heard how beautiful Eden was before the fall, and the saw the yearly animal sacrifice that had to be offered for each man's sins (...for without the shedding of blood, there is no remission of sins.) Adam, Eve, and Abel understood this well and brought their sacrifices to the alter (Genesis 4).

But this did not sit well with Cain. Why should an innocent lamb have to suffer for him? What was so urgent, so evil, so wrong that would necessitate the death of a beautiful animal? Besides, doesn't this harm the climate? So Cain improvised. He brought the first of his crops to the alter as a sacrifice. When Jesus Christ came down to the alter, he found Cain's unacceptable. Cain's disagreement with God went from disagreement, to depression, to hatred, to murder. The man who would not shed the blood of an animal for the forgiveness of his sins, went off and shed the blood of his brother. The entire world has gone the "way of Cain". The ever-religious Western World will go through hell and high water to stop Globull Climate Change, ban trans fats, ban sugar sodas, or stop smoking, but will not lift a finger to stop the Islamic Colonization, or infanticide, baby part sales, homosexuality, etc. Judgment is coming on the entire world because of these sins. What will happen Cain, and those who follow his way?

Jude 11 Woe unto them! for they have gone in the way of Cain, and ran greedily after the error of Balaam for reward, and perished in the gainsaying of Core. 12 These are spots in your feasts of charity, when they feast with you, feeding themselves without fear: clouds [they are] without water, carried about of winds; trees whose fruit withereth, without fruit, twice dead , plucked up by the roots; 13 Raging waves of the sea, foaming out their own shame; wandering stars, to whom is reserved the blackness of darkness for ever. 14 And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying , Behold , the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints, 15 To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed , and of all their hard [speeches] which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.

What happens when they run out of insects? That will throw off the ecosystem because those insects are what keeps the soil good for crops.

In other words, eating insects causes global warming.

Oh Please. Spare us.

Humans are mammals, they eat meat. It’s an omnivore thing. It’s an advantage in evolution. Do we need some spiritual expiation of our guilt for killing Bambi?

No. Just the way we are, like sharks.

The Swedes are just idiots. Suicidal idiots who are in the process of killing themselves.

Let them. Evolution is hard on idiots.

So wrong. The insects have a place in the ecosphere that is most important, and the idea of eating insects makes me puke.

Wouldn’t eating leftists be a far more effective way to end climate change?

"climate friendly source of protein"

"Other enticing offerings not involving insects include “climate-fungal protein”, a “healthy vegetarian barbecue” made from by-products” and “fibrous raw materials”, and a “blue cheese-like product” made from beans"

How Soylent of them. And now that the government is into regulating methane, we'll get to hear a lot more about..."other sources of protein."

When we lived in Washington state the local drugstores began having all kinds of insect bags at the checkout counters. Everything you can think of.
For consuming.

Not me. Ever.

God did ok eating insects that largely feed on plants, but those are not the type of insects they want us to dine on. They want us to dine on the creepy crawly things that eat us she we die.

“We’re so self-important. Everybody’s going to save something now. “Save the trees, save the bees, save the whales, save those snails.” And the greatest arrogance of all: save the planet. Save the planet, we don’t even know how to take care of ourselves yet. I’m tired of this sh*t. I’m tired of f-ing Earth Day. I’m tired of these self-righteous environmentalists, these white, bourgeois liberals who think the only thing wrong with this country is that there aren’t enough bicycle paths. People trying to make the world safe for Volvos. Besides, environmentalists don’t give a shit about the planet. Not in the abstract they don’t. You know what they’re interested in? A clean place to live. Their own habitat. They’re worried that some day in the future they might be personally inconvenienced. Narrow, unenlightened self-interest doesn’t impress me.

The planet has been through a lot worse than us. Been through earthquakes, volcanoes, plate tectonics, continental drift, solar flares, sun spots, magnetic storms, the magnetic reversal of the poles … hundreds of thousands of years of bombardment by comets and asteroids and meteors, worldwide floods, tidal waves, worldwide fires, erosion, cosmic rays, recurring ice ages … And we think some plastic bags and some aluminum cans are going to make a difference? The planet isn’t going anywhere. WE are!

We’re going away. Pack your sh*t, folks. We’re going away. And we won’t leave much of a trace, either. Maybe a little Styrofoam … The planet’ll be here and we’ll be long gone. Just another failed mutation. Just another closed-end biological mistake. An evolutionary cul-de-sac. The planet’ll shake us off like a bad case of fleas.

The planet will be here for a long, long, LONG time after we’re gone, and it will heal itself, it will cleanse itself, ’cause that’s what it does. It’s a self-correcting system. The air and the water will recover, the earth will be renewed. And if it’s true that plastic is not degradable, well, the planet will simply incorporate plastic into a new paradigm: the earth plus plastic. The earth doesn’t share our prejudice toward plastic. Plastic came out of the earth. The earth probably sees plastic as just another one of its children. Could be the only reason the earth allowed us to be spawned from it in the first place. It wanted plastic for itself. Didn’t know how to make it. Needed us. Could be the answer to our age-old egocentric philosophical question, “Why are we here?”

Plastic… asshole.”

The EU bigwigs won’t eat any of this serf-chow, you can bet your bottom dollar on that.

Kind of reminds me of Day of the Triffids when all the blind slaves were fed a diet of ground triffid.
