You totally missed the point of the story. It was about student athletes who don’t raise sports to become an idol. In our Larger Catechism (for the PCA), the Sabbath is defined as one day in seven to be set aside (Q. 116) as the Sabbath, which is called the Lord’s Day.
What they did was admirable, not something to be nitpicked.
One could argue about observing the Sabbath just as one could argue about telling “little, white lies”.
