Yes, for the conversion of America, back to God and away from the abominations of abortion, homosexuality, and hedonism.
I have read that the fervent (or effective) prayer of a righteous man availeth (helps/benefits) much, but ask yourself this question: how many truly righteous men are there today? Every day we hear of yet another pastor and/or church scandal of some sort. Infidelity, pornography, homosexuality abounds among the laity as well as the clergy, possibly more so. I also read that God made a deal with Lot regarding ten righteous men being the “toll” to save Sodom/Gomorrah and look how that turned out. I fear we are very close to a similar, but global, “cleansing.” I pray, but I’m far from righteous - by MY judgment - I pray God finds me otherwise.

Very telling that so much of the sin in our culture centers around the sexual realm.
God always has a “remnant” who have not bowed at the altars of false gods.
How do you know that it wouldn’t have been much worse if people hadn’t been praying?

Israel invaded the promised land and it was given to them because the natives were evil. They even burned their children to false gods. They were warned that if they did the same things, the same thing would happen to them.
They did and it did. We know that the Mayans also were invaded. There are sacrificial tells in Ohio. I would say, knowing that God has not changed, that this invasion of the world and terrorism (started when?) is no coincidence.
The king that made the practice legal did repent in prison in Babylon and was sent home. When he got back he tore down all the altars and his grandson was Josiah who lead a great revival. Josiah’s son rejected the law and began child sacrifice again. They were totally invaded during his reign.
Lamentations was written because of the invasion and I believe is also a prophecy of how bad this great tribulation will be. Our nation’s judgment could still be delayed with overturning roe and closing the temples of death, but it doesn’t look like it will happen.
We should be praying before all we do, and it will “allow” (no better word) the Holy Spirit to work, just as those with faith allowed Jesus to heal them. Remember the cities where no one was healed because of their lack of faith?
America is a republic and our vote can change things, too. Is our next President going to be 100% pro-life? Doesn’t look it to me. Now Americans are more worried about being killed and wounded because of the invasion. If they knew it was a consequence, would it have gotten this far? Woe to the shepherds (especially those on media).
Interesting that you mention child sacrifice.
