All I saw was that an archeologist found an unknown mosaic of a cross and some guy’s rant about Luther rejecting the Book of Maccabees.

Related article in Fox News (without the ranting)

You didn't read the line about how this was found in Modiin and that is the conclusive proof? /sarcasm.

I did not see much, though I did find the rant amusing.

Maybe Walid should check out this :

Last time I checked Maccabees and assorted other books were in it.

” Luther acted as if he was God and struck it from being Canon...”

The author knows his stuff.

“Maccabees… simply speaks of souls being purged in preparation for heaven.”

True. Outside the Catholic church there is little hope for eternal life. Need proof? Read Maccabees.

Luther and all other heretics try to re-write the Bible, make boring religions, and sadly, send people to hell. Apostates just throw the Bible out the window and could care less. Heretics are selfish like Luther and Calvin and think they know better.

St. Francis points out that the Lord was born in a manger with straw rather than in a five star hospital, because the Lord taught humility (God is the smartest in the room) and obedience (He has a plan for His project called “the universe”.)

Mr. Shoebat really knows his stuff and it is refreshing to read.

Alas, virtually all Protestant bibles from the early 1900’s are without the Secand Canon.

That word heretic sure gets used very loosely. Thankfully God Himself will determine Luther’s fate... I think Christ set His standard in commanding ‘Judge not lest ye be judged.... I can imagine old Luther getting posted as heaven’s greeter...

Outside of Christ there is no hope for eternal life, not outside of the Catholic church.

Outside of Christ there is no hope for eternal life, not outside of the Catholic church.

You make no sense here, in as much as the Church is the Body of Christ (Ref Col 1:18, Col 1:24)...and we are members of that Body (ref: Rom 12:4-5, 1 Cor 6:15, 1 Cor 12)...

I have a RSV Bible that included that special section of the extra books. It goes back to the 1970’s-80’s though.

Prior to WWI, most Lutheran Bibles has the Aprocrypha. My great uncle’s Bible from 1912 does.

During WWI, Wilson wanted to make the Lutheran’s Anglican
‘s. So that meant only the KJV, and a liturgy that was based on the book of common prayer.

When I was a kid in the 1980’s, we studied Maccabees in Sunday School and Confirmation class. One older woman would hand out the copies and say “Don’t tell anyone what you see here”.

There isn’t any major theology based on it.

I do find it funny that as the Catholic church spirals into a crisis over marriage and the split in the German churches, the attacks on Non Catholics increase.

Thank you for that correction.
