“The “Open Reconciliation” of Vatican II was another innovation of the devil meant to keep Catholics like me away from the Sacrament of Confession.”

No. First, there’s no such thing as “’Open Reconciliation’ of Vatican II”. Second, no reconciliation service can keep you away from confession. A friend of mine coming into the Church this Easter (Saturday at the vigil) just went to confession for the first time after a “penance service”. If someone knows what confession is, and he knows he needs it, then the only thing keeping him from it is himself and his own choices.

I refuse to ask a new-age Catholic, post-conciliar priest for the time of day, much less a sacrament. Behind this is extreme skepticism of the validity of any ordination performed subsequently to about 1960 and even more so of any ordination performed by a bishop himself who was ordained as such. In fact, it is quite possible that the world ends just prior to the final living, legitimately-ordained priest passing (since we know the Church persists until the end of earth time).

If someone knows what confession is, and he knows he needs it, then the only thing keeping him from it is himself and his own choices.

I confess all the time. Daily. Until I find a good priest/confessional, you feel that Jesus ignores my own prayers and direct confessions?
