I refuse to ask a new-age Catholic, post-conciliar priest for the time of day, much less a sacrament. Behind this is extreme skepticism of the validity of any ordination performed subsequently to about 1960 and even more so of any ordination performed by a bishop himself who was ordained as such. In fact, it is quite possible that the world ends just prior to the final living, legitimately-ordained priest passing (since we know the Church persists until the end of earth time).

If someone knows what confession is, and he knows he needs it, then the only thing keeping him from it is himself and his own choices.

I confess all the time. Daily. Until I find a good priest/confessional, you feel that Jesus ignores my own prayers and direct confessions?

Time to get over your de facto sedevacantism.

You sound like a Donatist. Good priest, bad priest, their behavior doesn’t effect the efficacy of the sacraments they perform. It’s not about how YOU feel, or how YOU judge the priest.

There really is nothing like the real Sacrament from any Catholic priest who has canonical status.

We had some Ruthenian Rite monks who lived in our locale for a while. Confession would be heard in the back of the church before the Divine LIturgy. You would confess your sins privately to the priest with his stole over your head, and then, much to the chagrine of the penitent, his instruction would be said very loud so the whole congregation could hear. While this sounds embarrassing, the priest was actually very careful to give general instruction, so everyone in the community would benefit.
