VATICAN CITY The Vatican on Monday (Jan. 12) rejected reports that it could be the next target of Islamist terrorists after last weeks deadly attacks in France.
The move came as Pope Francis called for a unanimous global response to the self-declared Islamic State as he left on his first official visit to the Philippines and Sri Lanka.
Israeli state TV reported Sunday that U.S. intelligence services had warned the Vatican could be the next terrorist target, as international leaders joined an estimated 2 million people in a massive anti-terrorism rally in Paris.
But the Vaticans chief spokesman, the Rev. Federico Lombardi, on Monday said the Holy See had received no specific threats.
We are adopting an attitude of caution and attention, but there is no sign of any specific risks, Lombardi said.
The Vatican and the pope may be targets, as are naturally all institutions in Italy and the rest of Europe. But it is not opportune to feed a state of particular alarm, because at the moment it is neither justified or well-founded, he said.

I have often thought this to be the case (much of it anyway)with the Catholic Church’s role in the end times:

Well there will be lots of happy folks on this forum if it is.
I generally figure it is because he doesn't know what he thinks when he starts writing, but instead just "if/then's" it through some rationalization .... and I always figure its about 2AM when he's doing it.
With that said, I would hope that if those a$$holes attack the Vatican and injure or kill the Pope that all of non-muslim humanity would join together to bring about their final destruction.
> You know... when I read these type of web pages / documents..... I always wish the author would prepare them with what is a standard, accepted form of stating the hypothesis, then the proof, then restating the hypothesis. I always hate needing to read for 25 minutes before you figure out what the guy believes and what he is trying to say.
Agree 100 %. I’m guessing he’s a “can’t see the forest for the trees” type of guy and seems to be very fluent in Christianese but I’m guessing he might argue with you, get angry, and curse at you if you disagreed with him missing the whole point of what it is to be a Christ follower....I could be wrong though
You want to see a giant can of whoop ass? Just mess with the Catholics and fire will rain down on them like they’ve never seen.

I am ready to see fire reign down on the Allah worshippers as long as its not being brought down from the sky by “the dragon” or second beast...
WHY do I get the image of Officer Barbrady in a Swiss Guard uniform?
"Okay, people, move along, nothing to see here..."
As repulsive and evil as the jihadi attacks on citizens are, be careful not to fall into a trap. A trap that was predicted over a century ago by Albert Pike,
Freemason, confederate general.
He predicted 3 world wars. The final being the islamists against the zionists and provoked by the agents of the illuminati.
Interesting that French president Hollande used the word illuminati to describe the attackers of the French attack.
The real enemy is hiding in the shadows........cowards that they are.
>>>Pope Francis called for a unanimous global response to the self-declared Islamic State as he left on his first official visit to the Philippines and Sri Lanka.
Pope Francia needs to dust off Pope Urban II religious war plan! Calling for unanimous response will not happen. Even Islamic countries can not correct their own problems. Muslims view all actions by allah (allahs will), so what can go wrong?
There's going to be a lot more unhappy folks if it is true...
