US Nuns Resisted Vatican Investigation into Religious Life, Admits Head of Inquiry
The Tablet (UK) ^ | 12/12/14 | Abigail Frymann Rouch

The woman tasked with carrying out the Vatican’s three-year investigation into the health of Religious life in the US admitted she faced resistance and criticism from fellow sisters.

Writing in this week’s Tablet Mother Mary Clare Millea said the Vatican allowed her to select her own collaborators to carry out the apostolic investigation of the nearly 400 institutes of women Religious. She said she felt she had “the complete trust of the congregation in Rome” to formulate a strategy for carrying out the investigation.

The long-awaited report from the investigation is to be released on Tuesday. Mother Clare, who is superior general of the Apostles of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, said she completed her report in January 2012.

She said she had felt “overwhelmed” when asked to carry out the task by the then-prefect of the Congregation for the Institutes of Consecrated Life in 2008, Cardinal Franc Rodé.

“Although I realised immediately the task would be well beyond my abilities, I knew in my heart that I had to say yes,” she writes.

Do not criticise homosexuals
Do not criticise criminals
Do not criticise women that murder their unborn

All are worthy of love and respect.

Huh? We are being investigated?

It looks like that link takes you to a partial article. For the full article you must click the ink at the bottom and be a subscriber. That’s probably where the resistance is explained. And it is very much within the plausible that American nuns that advocate every walked out social cause their is would oppose the Vatican.

Mother Clare met 266 of the 341 superiors general of the American institutes engaged in apostolic activities, and they shared with her “the joys, hopes and challenges” of their congregation.

In addition, 75 “visitors” went to selected Religious houses to ask each sister to share “her lived experience and to express her personal vision of her charism and mission”.

Why would the resist investigating things they advertize such as this

From the Sinsinawa Dominican nuns:

Finding New Connectors to God

We will explore the four types of claires ... clairvoyance (pictures), clairaudience (hearing), clairsentience (feelings) and claircogniznace (knowing) ... trying to discover one that resonates with you to help you better connect with the Divine power and bring awareness to where you are spiritually. The retreat will combine the Hatha physical experience and meditation practice of Yoga. This retreat will be semi-silent (silence will be observed at all times except during our group sessions). - https://www.sinsinawa.org/MoundCenter/RetreatDetail.cfm?num=580

Zentangle Workshop

Zentangle is a pen and ink meditative art form. The class consists of two sessions in which the participant will learn to draw eight to ten patterns. Interspersed with the drawing will be mindfulness and meditative exercises. "Almost anyone can use Zentangle to create beautiful images. It increases focus and creativity, provides artistic satisfaction along with an increased sense of personal well being. - https://www.sinsinawa.org/MoundCenter/RetreatDetail.cfm?num=591

We invite you to walk the labyrinth and discover a new, yet ancient way to pray . . . to meditate.

The labyrinth is an ancient spiritual tool, founded as early as 200 B.C.E. Its history includes use in Crete, Tibet, Greece, Celtic spirituality, early European art, and in the Christian tradition.

And no longer offered:

A Circle of Drums This workshop is a high-energy, hands-on presentation emphasizing collaborative, creative individual expression while also exhibiting the benefits of synergetic group dynamics. Bill uses an ensemble of beautiful drums and percussion instruments from around the world to facilitate a meaningful team-building experience that celebrates the expansive nature of human potential and the ecstatic response to group rhythm-making. It is our hope that everyone who participates in the experience will enjoy a powerful body/mind/spirit encounter that will last a lifetime! - https://www.sinsinawa.org/MoundCenter/RetreatDetail.cfm?num=536

it goes way beyond prolife or “political” issues.

Jesus is not their personal savior: it's “jesus consciousness” that will let the world evolve to the omega point of superhumans.

If you meditate the right way, you will evolve into a higher power and rule the world (see Barbara Marx Hubbard's books).

And the biology/sociology/anthropology books, whoops I mean the Catholic church is wrong insisting that men and women are equal but have different complimentary roles in the world (read JP2 or StEdith Stein's books on this).

The evil patriarchy is running the church, and if the seminaries left in a lot of poofy men, well it has nothing to do with the fact that Sister psychologist vetoed all applicants who said they prayed a lot, supported priestly celibacy and opposed the gay agenda. (See “goodbye good men”).

Their view of the hierarchy is not that of a family, it is viewed via Marxism: evil people in charge, and the people have to revolt. Never mind that the ordinary people are up in arms when these sisters teach their kids socialism instead of catechism in the after school classes (no catholic schools anymore: they refuse to be cheap labor for the bishops, so poor people no longer can afford to send their kids to these schools, which now serve elite yuppies).

In other words, there are nuns who would make liberal episcopal woman priests look conservative (after all, I know some of these who actually love Jesus and try to serve him). They serve there is a name for what they are doing: Gnosticism. But heck, who learns about ancient heresies anymore?
