The top legislative body of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) voted Thursday to redefine Christian marriage in the church constitution as the union of "two people" instead of only "a man and a woman."
The amendment requires approval from a majority of the 172 regional presbyteries, which will vote on the change over the next year. But in a separate vote that will take effect immediately, the Presbyterian General Assembly allowed ministers to preside at gay weddings in states where gay marriage is legal. Nineteen states and the District of Columbia recognize same-sex marriage.
Alex McNeill, executive director of More Light Presbyterians, a gay advocacy group, said the decisions Thursday were "an answer to many prayers" of same-sex couples.
The conservative Presbyterian Lay Committee decried the votes in Detroit as an "abomination."
"The General Assembly has committed an express repudiation of the Bible, the mutually agreed upon Confessions of the PCUSA, thousands of years of faithfulness to God's clear commands and the denominational ordination vows of each concurring commissioner," the committee said in a statement.

Thank you, Lord, for the One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic church - the Roman Catholic Church.
Matthew 16:
[15] Jesus saith to them: But whom do you say that I am?
[16] Simon Peter answered and said: Thou art Christ, the Son of the living God. [17] And Jesus answering, said to him: Blessed art thou, Simon Bar-Jona: because flesh and blood hath not revealed it to thee, but my Father who is in heaven. [18] And I say to thee: That thou art Peter; and upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. [19] And I will give to thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven. And whatsoever thou shalt bind upon earth, it shall be bound also in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose upon earth, it shall be loosed also in heaven.
Jesus said to them again, Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, even so I send you. And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and said to them, Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven; if you retain the sins of any, they are retained.
I won’t argue with you about it. First, because your church hasn’t yet officially gone this way. You did, though, like me, read about Baltimore and its homosexual supporting bishop. Second, because my denomination hasn’t gone that way yet either, but it has a large number trying hard to do so.
I hope Francis turns out all right.
See #42, narses.
Ditto.
But Francis is simply the Pope. The Bishop of Rome, yes. The Holy Father to us in the Catholic faith, yes. But NOT Our Lord, rather His Vicar. If Francis chose to act against the Faith, he would be the Apostate. The Church cannot and will not teach error. It is His. As are we.
16 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.
17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but My Father who is in Heaven.
18 And I say also unto thee, that thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build My church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. 19 And I will give unto thee the keys of the Kingdom of Heaven. And whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in Heaven, and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in Heaven.
Pray for them.
My cousin’s daughter was married in an Episcopal Church a couple of weeks ago. He sent me a short clip of the pastor conducting the ceremony. It was very short and to the point, ending with him saying “I know pronounce you married”. No where during the ceremony did he say I now pronounce you man and wife or husband and wife. Guess that’s what the Episcopal Church did when they stuck their middle finger up to God and started “marrying” sodomites.
Developments like this will effect your Church because they 1) provide a morale boost to the homosexual activists and their fellow travelers and confirm them in their belief that with the right amount of pressure and threats, churches can be coerced to do their bidding, and 2) they provide a propaganda boost by giving them a poster child to whom they can point and say......"see, these guys get it....time for you other, neanderthal churches to get with the program and come into the 21st century".
Obviously, the larger the church, the bigger the propaganda boost. Since PCUSA is the largest of the Presbyterian denominations, this is a major win for the enemy.
In western culture. The USA is attempting to spread that culture but they will be surprised at the resistance.
You have to hypersexualize a culture to get it to advocate unnatural sex. You also have to feminize it.
Yep. Says the same thing in the King James Bible, Catholic Bible or whichever version you prefer. What’s so hard to understand?
