“You think it was a private conversation?” Uhhhh......No.
And I wonder why the question.
Thanks FOR your THOUGHTS but THE caps REALLY aren’t necessary.
O.K., your turn to comment on the same verses sans sarcasm.
I am sorry, that was just plain hilarious.
I don’t care what your antichrist church “scholars” say, Papias who lived shortly after John died says it was Hebrew at first.
So stop pushing nonsense.
You keep leaving out the part that Yeshua said, why?
Salvation assumes repentance of all sins. If you have not repented, you do not know Yeshua at all. Belief as called out in the gospels is all encompassing. If there is something that he said that you do not believe, then you believe nothing. Either he was truth or he was a scoundrel.
Good luck with THAT!!!
Now then; real closely now...
Focus on the YOU words...
Does 'repentance' mean you'll never sin again?
HMMMmmm...
So ALL 'doubt' must be banished - or, at least, not acknowledge; eh?
Oh man! Do you have a problem with that one. The only source that Papias mentioned a Hebrew version of Matthew comes from a statement from Eusebius who others have parroted.
Here was the first mention of that. Its a statement by Eusebius.
Papias states: "Matthew put together the oracles [of the Lord] in the Hebrew language, and each one interpreted them as best he could." [Eusebius in Hist. Eccl. 3.39]
Eusebius calls Papias a man of small mental capacity [Historia Ecclesiastica 3.39.13.]
Kloppenborg calls the statement that there was a Hebrew version legendary at best. [J.S.Kloppenborg Verbin, Excavating Q : The History and Setting of the Sayings Gospel (Edinburgh: T & T Clark, 2000) 80] By all accounts that statement of Eusebius that Papias said that Matthew was written in Hebrew is highly suspect at best. There are volumes of Greek manuscripts available of the gospel of Matthew but not even a shred of any manuscript in Hebrew.
scholars indeed. The only source for the statement by Papias was from Eusebius who calls him a man of small mental capacity and the scholars who have looked at that claim of there being a Hebrew manuscript have all discounted it.
Now you have two sources to show as proof of things you say. Any original Hebrew manuscripts of Matthew and the documentation from Papias and his source of proof. Youre getting fearfully behind here.
I don’t rely on “good luck” and why would I need it to receive a comment without sarcasm? Do you not understand the verses you quoted or not understand the comments made about them?
The big deal is that they are being used by the deceiver to cast doubt on the infallible words of God. I believe it is our duty to shine the light of truth on their deceit. It also stems from a lack of faith in God that He can and has preserved His words for us today.
If you doubt him, he isn’t your savior.
>> “Does ‘repentance’ mean you’ll never sin again?” <<
.
Repentance means that you do not repeat the sin deliberately. Saying that you’re sorry is not repentance.
one question..who is Nehemia Gordon...?
Yes, Yehova has preserved his word for today, and Nehemia Gordon, and Keith Johnson are the men he chose to do the job now when it is needed most.
Stick with your antichrist Greek translation, and try to figure it out. That is a job by itself since it is self-contradictory in numerous places.
Gordon is a translator of ancient Hebrew from Hebrew University.
He is one of only five people allowed to handle the Dead Sea Sceolls.
And still no Hebrew manuscripts or documentation from Papias. Sigh.
