In light of a Florida jury verdict finding George Zimmerman not guilty, a professor at an Ivy League university has now concluded that God is “a white racist god with a problem” who “is carrying a gun and stalking young black men.”
The fulmination is part of an epic blog rant by Anthea Butler, an associate professor of religious studies at the University of Pennsylvania and a frequent guest at media outlets including MSNBC and CNN.
In the diatribe, Butler cites a book she first read as a seminary student called Is God a White Racist? by William R. Jones. She found the book surprising then, but says she understands it now, particularly as she contemplates the death of Trayvon Martin, who died on February 26, 2012.
“God ain’t good all of the time,” Butler declares. “In fact, sometimes, God is not for us. As a black woman in an [sic] nation that has taken too many pains to remind me that I am not a white man, and am not capable of taking care of my reproductive rights, or my voting rights, I know that this American god ain’t my god.”
Butler is particularly upset at what she views as the conservative Christian conception of the Creator.
“Whatever makes them protected, safe, and secure, is worth it at the expense of the black and brown people they fear,” she rages. “Their god is the god that wants to erase race.”
Butler also complains about the Three-Fifths Compromise, which essentially treated slaves as three-fifths of a person, and which was part of the Constitution when it was originally ratified in 1789.
In 1865, almost 150 years ago, the Thirteenth Amendment abolished slavery, thus nullifying the notorious compromise.
“Religious conservatism of the 21st century is in bed with the prison industrial complex, the Koch brothers, the NRA—all while proclaiming that they are ‘pro-life,’” Butler also claims. “They are anything but. They are the ones who thought that what George Zimmerman did was right.”
The ACLU will be all over him for bringing discussions of God into the classroom.

Again the modern misconception of the 3/5s clause. It was written as a counter to the slave holding states from getting congressional representation based upon total population, including those who were held in slavery and thus could not vote. It reduced the power in Congress of the slave states and thus increased the power of the anti-slavery/non-slave holding states. It was the start, along with the restrictions on importing slaves from outside the US that began around 1800.

Penn is Ivy League. It was a wonderful institution that supported Christians and Jews for centuries from its founding by Benjamin Franklin in 1740 through the 1970s; and even since the secularist revolution in academia, is still a leader in various non-ideological fields like medicine (both human and veterinary), engineering, business management, architecture, and other fields.
Deal with it.

You’re right about Rutgers not being an Ivy League school though they act that way. Still loaded with reds in the law school and H. Bruce Franklin in the English Dept., among others.
Brown Un. a once great school turned PC cesspool, as has Brandeis (Have relatives who attended or taught at them).
Columbia Un. - Subversion Central since the old days of Corliss Lamont (CPUSA), now Rashid Khalili, and Kathy Boudin (Weather Underground killer), among many others.
Cornell: gave us the pro-Hanoi Lobby out of McT. Kahin’s Southeast Asia/Indochina studies program

I have never seen so many marxists, communists, racists, and academic frauds in our university/college system as there are today. Athea Butler is just another example of the degree of marxist and racist penetration and insanity that exists in academia today.

This is reference to an editorial run in Canada Free Press. The Canadians got it right.! Too bad half of the so called conservatives talk show hosts I’ve been listening to can’t seem to be willing to connect the dots to what a heavy hand his imperious highness played in this example of socialist justice meted out to serve the policies of the state . Turning this into a show trial replete with wall to wall tv coverage.
.For certain since the not guilty verdict has been rendered the facts of this case are still being concealed by the media such as pictures of both side by side they look like cousins. The mixed area that Zimmerman was a “watch captain” in was struggling with single and groups of young blacks on the prowl.,In some instances armed, preying on homeowners.in his area..That area wasn’t even examinined because it wouldn’t fit their agenda.. Which if done ,if true journalisim existed, because that might explain his action of surveilance . In many watch areas that’s done frequently when the subject disappears from view.
Even after learning the shooter was a staunch Obama supporter, not Jewish, and a very dark skinned “hispanic” Obama did nothing to curtail the hyperbole or tone down his edict creating this as a racist episode. The socialists controlling the media propaganda machine oblidged.. They began claiming the neighborhood watch captain was a “white hispanic” .or used a picture of a 12 year old Martin instead of the 6 foot 165 pound person he was vs the smaller 140 pound lttle fatty neighborhood watch captain. Worse yet allowed his US Attorney General to use questionable activities to promote a show trial and ignored using a threat of prosecution to black militant groups threatening the watch captain’s life.
Meanwhile attacks by black groups on selected happless white victims which wind in their death get ignored by the mainline socialist messengers MSM service and black on black killings many of the age of the so called victim is likewise same-o same-o.
Do not confuse todays politicians and their ahearants in the press and academia as followers of “Liberalism”. . These are die hard God denying I’m right you’re wrong socialists incapable of independent thinking running todays media.. Devising political campaigns of lies and manipulated inflamatory languange disguised as “news or reliable information” designed to destroy any opponent or group to what is edicted by their leader.
