A few weeks ago I reported on this website that our church added a new minister. He and his family were muslims from Iran who have converted and now devote Christians. Yesterday, they took over the services. His topic was 'Building Birdges'. An interesting topic because our church is planning on replacing the old church, and this hit us kind of hard. 'We should be spending our money on building bridges to converts rather then grand edifaces and towers'. Also, he was critical of the christian churches that change their beliefs and Bible to satisfy the on-going political correctness of the day. These two topics really got me to thinking. So he is now a threat to the moslims but he's not ignoring the unwholesome things going on in the christian faith ether. I think our church will have some lively discussions in the future.
What is a “birdge”?
It is an example that even unbelievers have a moral code they live by.
Their best may be able to live better than our worst. Most can’t because our normal sin nature automatically finds it a lot easier to do wrong than right.
Without the Holy Spirit’s help there’s no direct access to God, and there’s no New Man in you fighting the Old Man.
And to this point, your moral code doesn’t save you, no matter who you are. We still have to address the consequence of each one of our sin problems and how that will be taken care of.
