Pope Francis does not have an extensive bibliography. To understand his thinking, media outlets since his election have turned repeatedly to Sobre el Cielo y la Tierra (On Heaven and Earth) -- a 2010 book he co-authored as Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglio with Rabbi Abraham Skorka, an Argentine biophysicist and rector of the Latin American Rabbinical Seminary in Buenos Aires.

Interesting. I’d like to read it.
Thanks for posting.
So much for the Year of Faith. It's a good thing our first Pope, St. Peter, didn't have the same attitude as Pope Francis.
Oh, he was preaching the Gospel, just not doing so directly. Sometimes just LIVING the Gospel is more effective than trying to convince someone with words.
He was preaching the Gospel along with a rabbi? Are you kidding?
Pope Francis sounds like a wonderful man and a good example of a real Christian. How about the other things he is quoted as saying in the article? Such as:
When I meet with people who are atheists, I share human issues with them, but I dont bring up the problem of God right away, except in cases when they bring it up with me, Bergoglio says.
If that happens, however, the future pope says he tells them why he is a believer. Since humanity is something rich enough to be shared, he and the person can calmly and easily discuss experiences in life.
Because I am a believer, I know these riches are a gift from God, Bergoglio says. I also know that the other person, the atheist, does not know that. I do not embark on the relationship to proselytize to an atheist, I respect him and I show him how I am.
He also states that while knowledge is present, good qualities such as appreciation, affection and friendship emerge.
More quotes at the link. He expresses trying to have unconditional love and respect for everyone, including atheists. That is a wonderful quality. And although I am not a Catholic, his description of what a priest is and should be, and should not be, are very edifying.
Jesus knew his audience completely before he started sharing the Good News with him or her. We don’t have that advantage, so we actually need to establish a base level of respectful communication.
Haven’t you ever been proselytized by someone who has no idea who you are? They are sure you are going to hell even though they have no idea who they are talking to? This has happened to me a couple of times.
I think Pope Francis is smarter than that.
“Jesus knew his audience completely before he started sharing the Good News with him or her.”
But His apostles did not know their “audience completely”; yet they went to the four corners of the globe to proselytize. Many of them lost their lives doing so.

This is written by the National Schismatic Fishwrap.
I would take it with about twice the grains of salt that I would use when reading an article by the NY Slimes.
Something to bear in mind.
I posted a quote of Cardinal Bergoglio from a book he co-authored with a rabbi. Don’t blame it on the National Catholic Distorter.
Do you have the book? Have you read the book? Or did you get it from the little snippet that was in the NCBirdcage?
I trust NOTHING out of that rag.
Having said that, I haven't read the book either. But this kind of thing does not sound consistent with the homilies he's given since he's been the Holy Father.
Bergoglio honored his friend, Rabbi Skorka, with the degree of Doctor Honoris Causa, at the Pontificia Universidad Católica Argentina (UCA) / Pontifical Catholic University of Argentina, on the 50th Anniversary of the opening of Vatican II.
Skorka, openly supports homosexual unions.
El rabino Skorka se expresó a favor de la unión entre homosexuales

Is that it?
You're taking material from a woman who calls him "Pope" Francis. Not "Pope Francis" but "Pope" Francis.
Again, you shoot the messenger.
Actually, it’s Skorka whom I don’t like, not Pope Francis. However, I’m disappointed the latter agreed to co-author a book about “God” with the former.
Do you think the two ever discussed Jesus Christ with each other?
I have no idea. I haven't read the book.
The fact that they wrote a book together is enough evidence for me.
OK.
