Jesus knew his audience completely before he started sharing the Good News with him or her. We don’t have that advantage, so we actually need to establish a base level of respectful communication.

Haven’t you ever been proselytized by someone who has no idea who you are? They are sure you are going to hell even though they have no idea who they are talking to? This has happened to me a couple of times.

I think Pope Francis is smarter than that.

But His apostles did not know their “audience completely”; yet they went to the four corners of the globe to proselytize. Many of them lost their lives doing so.
