Jesus didn’t say read the bible.. cause their were no bibles..
Not that many could even read.. anyway...
And clergy murdered Jesus.. so he wasn’t big on clergy either..
Holy in english, in greek, in hebrew had different cultural meanings..
No language on this planet matches the hebrew sense of the word “Holy”..
However whats holy to “you” may not be holy in a hebrew sense..
Since the word can have many meanings.. totally remote from the original sense of the word..
Must be because Jesus came to specifically make literally every religion on this planet obsolete.. and DID..
A real God has no need for religion.. that I can see..
ONLY Pseudo-Gods or Demi-Gods have need of religion..
I don’t begrudge them their images whether mental or actual..
They need them badly.. otherwise they have nothing but dogma..
well, no, the clergy didn’t murder Jesus. That’s trying to put the blame on only one group — like pushing away our own blame. It’s wasn’t “just the clergy’ or ‘just the roman soldiers’ or ‘just the jews’ — it was all of us, all our sins that murdered Him.
Do you mean "need," or "use"? God has no need of anything from us; religion is strictly for our benefit. The Scriptures don't endorse your position. Christ said he would found an ekklesia (assembly); Paul said that worship should be conducted in good order. Sounds like religion -- systematic or formalized worship, usually involving a group -- to me.
