Sometimes our prayers are not answered by the Lord. I figure the moral shape that our country is in that if I was the Lord (which I’m not) I would not answer the prayers of our good people just yet. I believe we have a lot to learn and to be humbled before the Lord will hear our cries and prayers for righteousness.
Thanks for the post, first time I ever consistently prayed for the nation and an election. Disappointed.
Maybe its true that the Lord has lifted his hand off America, and we are, for the most part, a Godless nation. Hello Muslim brotherhood.
Who failed to pray?
Thank you all!
You’ll just have to pray harder next time. Pray for Todd Akin and Richard Mourdock while you’re at it. I’m sure they could use your prayer support.
You can’t pray your way into election victories. It just doesn’t usually work that way. People should really knock it off with this notion that if we pray enough it will help us win elections. It probably won’t.
To win elections you need polished, skilled politicians who can sell people on a set of ideas. That’s it. There is no guarantee people will vote the right way either - even if they are god fearing folks.
In the past couple of months I have lost my job, my fiancé the love of my life, and now my country. Where else is there to go but to my knees? My tear ducts have run dry and my heart torn apart.
Amen. His will be done. we have been judged and found wanting. but take heart. our Lord is also merciful. i believe that he will find ways to defend his remnant. let us gear up for 2014. the lame duck is coming and we still hold the house, thank God. God bless us all.
This should serve as an example of why we shouldn't be finding ourselves in the position to pray that an abortionist like Myth would win an election.
What do we Christians not understand about the Blessing of living in a Representative government?
What message do we send God when we vote for an abortionist, false prophet following, believes-he-will-one-day-be"god" candidate to represent us?
Thank you, Blogger. I am continuing to pray. It isn’t over yet, as far as I’m concerned.
And regardless of the election outcome, I try to remember that God’s timeline is eternity, not four years.
May God bless all my fellow FReepers. And God bless the USA.
Thanks so much for this. I am so disappointed..I thought for sure we would win. But my wise aunt called me the other day and knew we would not because of the things you speak of. I so worry about my 4 year old....but I know that I know that I know.....
Keep praying. America needs a true revival. The only way to real change, is a change of the heart.
Blessings come with repentance. Our nation is far from being on its knees before God. The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob will not bless us when we are so much like Sodom and Gomorrah .

Thank you for encouraging us to pray. We need to keep praying.
I’m sure that praying harder won’t help. I’m sure there are plenty on the other side of the political spectrum that were praying hard for Obamao too! Things just aren’t working out for the right at this time for various reasons. I seriously doubt this will change at this point.
My biggest problem in all this is that, even as I was praying for an Obama loss, I knew in my conscience that I was praying for the victory of a blasphemous and idolatrous heretic who believes 1) he will some day be equal to God, 2) Jesus and Satan are brothers, and 3) that God had sexual intercourse with Mary.
God’s answer, I believe, is simply that He cannot endorse such things, and those who believe in Him—myself included—should have known better than to think He would bless our chosen course. Instead, He left America to her own depravity and we get four more years under a Marxist who hates the very country he governs.
The lesson is that we should never again trust our nation’s fate to the godless northeastern GOP establishment, who serve mammon rather than Our Lord Jesus Christ.
