Nun Who Leads Network Disparages Bishops, Hesitant to Call Herself Pro-Life
Catholic Culture ^ | 6/13/12

Speaking at a Jesuit parish in Charlotte, the executive director of the social justice lobby Network disparaged Vatican officials and US bishops as “inexperienced” in pastoral work and revealed that she is uncomfortable describing herself as pro-life “because of my pride.”

After speaking on the importance of civility in political discourse, Sister Simone Campbell dismissed the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith’s efforts to reform the Leadership Conference of Women Religious (LCWR) as a “Vatican kerfuffle” and, in the words of the Charlotte diocesan newspaper, “scorned the US bishops for their continued opposition to the health insurance law.”

In February, Network issued a statement “applaud[ing] the administration’s accommodation of religious conscience objections to the provision of insurance coverage for contraceptives to women at no cost to them.”

The Charlotte diocesan newspaper also reported that

Sister Campbell questioned many Catholics’ focus on that one issue [abortion], criticizing the pro-life movement as not considering the entire spectrum of Catholic social teaching, but then she acknowledged that "progressive" Catholics like herself have contributed to the discord between pro-life and pro-social justice Catholics.

"I have allowed a very narrow perspective on what is life, because I actually feel like I'm going to develop a rash or something if I use 'life' in that broader sense," she said.

She has avoided framing social justice concerns as "pro-life" issues, she said, "because I don't want to be thought of as in (the pro-life) camp. Because of my pride, as opposed to my faith."

Parse these words slowly and reflect on them a bit.

How can any living, ostensibly sentient creature utter such a logical inconsistency?

This world is being overrun with humans having few or no logical facilities.

I guess the flower power orders will simply die out, to be replaced by small, orthodox orders.

So be it. Sad to think of what used to be, though.

Or also, once these rebellous sisters RETIRE and they WILL, the more devout younger could very well take over and do the NEEDED reforms to bring them back in line.

She doesn’t want to be associated with the “pro-life camp”, no doubt because she believes it is dominated by the guys with the ugly pictures, and clinic bombers, and rabid right wing Bible thumpers. So as not to be thought of as “one of them”, she has been ashamed to stick up for innocent human life. The “in” crowd won’t like her any more if she has common cause with “those” people.

Grown woman on the outside. Juvenile on the inside.

Jesus did not hesitate to preach the Gospel because someone might lump him in with “those” extremist Zealot party members.

She’s totally forgotten about following Christ. She’s determined to be thought of as smart and progressive. Being religiously affiliated is now just the source of her paycheck, housing, a retirement plan.

Sad.

Maybe she’s uncomfortable describing herself as “pro-life” because she is anti-life. Why else would she be in favor of mandatory no-price contraceptives?

Don't you wonder about these left wing nuns? Why are they nuns? They don't seem to agree with or uphold the Church's teachings in any way. And how did they get approved to become nuns in the first place? I am beginning to wonder if there is not a conspiracy here. Just as the Left has infiltrated private and professional organizations such as the Girl Scouts and the American Psychiatric Association, major charitable boards and foundations such as the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and Ford Foundations, and certainly government bureauracry to a massive degree, it appears that it has infiltrated the Catholic Church into positions of power. Take some lesbian women who don't care about getting married to men and raising children and place them into the Church where they can attack it and every Christian value from within. There they can do their radical thing supporting abortion, gay marriage, illegal immigration, etc.

“Why are they nuns?”

3 hots and a cot, and a convenient “beard” for homosexuality. Basically, some of the same reasons Sodomites became priests.
