Mary sealed to Heavenly Father by LDS proxy temple rites The Mormon Baptism of Mary, Mother of God

By Helen Radkey

Hail Holy Queen

Mary (the mother of Jesus) was a Jewish woman of Nazareth in Galilee, identified in the New Testament as the wife of Joseph and the mother of Jesus of Nazareth. Christians believe Mary conceived Jesus miraculously by the agency of the Holy Spirit. For twenty centuries, Christians have cherished Mary and given her titles that reflect their love and admiration—such as the Blessed Virgin Mary, Theotokos (Mother of God), Our Lady, and Queen of Heaven. As the most celebrated woman in Christendom, Mary is considered the epitome of virtue by Christians, especially Catholics and Orthodox. Protestants generally perceive Mary as an outstanding example of a life dedicated to God. Over two thousand years after she gave birth to Jesus Christ—who is recognized by Christians and Mormons as the Redeemer of mankind—Mary of Nazareth was offered “eternal salvation” through The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS.)

Mary, a Mormon by proxy

“Mary Mother of Jesus,” the spouse of “Joseph „of the House of David‟…” was baptized and confirmed a member of the LDS Church by proxy on December 9, 2009 in the Idaho Falls Idaho (LDS) Temple. She was subjected to initiatory temple ordinances on December 16, 2009; an endowment ceremony on December 26, 2009; and a sealing to parents on January 7, 2010—all rites occurred in the Idaho Falls Idaho Temple.

If according to MoMo teaching that Jesus became a God, then that would mean Mary is not the Mother of God but the mother of a man named Jesus... (Note am not referring to RC teaching here1!!)

They ought to baptize Mohammed—and then watch what happens.

Damn crazy day in America when we’re much more inclined to carefully respect the religion of Mohammed than the one ushered in by Joseph Smith.

I am Roman Catholic. This could only bother me if I gave some validity to the Mormon faith. I don’t. Therefore it simply seems a silly thing for them to do.

it’s not really blasphemy as Mary is only human.

It's pretty arrogant, though. The LDS think the true church disappeared after the death of the last apostle. Do they seriously think that Mary, of all people, wasn't already baptized by then?

This sort of thing only makes sense if the LDS really believe that the true church never existed on earth until Joseph Smith.

It will be a rare occasion for me that I will agree with the MSM, but in the name of truth it needs to be done.

It is not only arrogant, it is also questioning God’s character and ability.

They would have to make the claim that didn’t know what he was doing when Christ walked the earth.

They also baptized, endowed, and sealed (married) Jesus Christ to several women.

Which is interesting since Mormon leaders have taught that the temple rites they perform are the SAME rites that existed in the Temple of Solomon. So why wouldn’t Jesus have had his ‘saving ordinances’ while he was still alive?

See my tagline if you are wonder where I stand on this issue.

Which level of Heaven? Mormons have 3 (only one has God the Father though and guarantees progression to godhood for the Mormons), and everyone except ‘sons [and daughters] of Perdition’ like me who have left Mormonism goes to one of the levels, even Charlie Manson and Hitler.

As for me and other ex-mormons, they don’t have Hell, but rather the ultimate deep freeze called ‘outer darkness’.

The Mormons claim their church has been growing,

- - - - -
That is a falsehood. The LDS church is actually losing more members then they are bringing in and have been for almost 20 years.

However, not everyone who leaves goes through the hassle of ‘name removal’ (a long drawn out resignation process) so they are still counted as members.

Of the supposed 14 million LDS, only about 5 million worldwide actually attend the LDS church and believe in it.

I can see where you are coming from. However the LDS don’t state that. They do state that Mary is one of Heavenly Fathers polygamist wives (as well as his ‘spirit daughter’).

Some quotes from Mormon leaders...

The fleshly body of Jesus required a Mother as well as a Father. Therefore, the Father and Mother of Jesus, according to the flesh, must have been associated together in the capacity of Husband and Wife; hence the Virgin Mary must have been, for the time being, the lawful wife of God the Father: we use the term lawful Wife, because it would be blasphemous in the highest degree to say that He overshadowed her or begat the Savior unlawfully. (Orson Pratt, The Seer, page 158)

Inasmuch as God was the first husband to her, it may be that He only gave her to be the wife of Joseph while in the mortal state, and that He intended after the resurrection to again take her as one of his own wives to raise up immortal spirits in eternity. (Orson Pratt, The Seer, page 158)

The man Joseph, the husband of Mary, did not, that we know of, have more than one wife, but Mary the wife of Joseph had another husband. (Brigham Young, Journal of Discourses, 11:268)

I’ve got more quotes but I won’t bother to post them.

Allow me to give what I think is a comparable analogy:

Let's say your mom is deceased.

Let's say the people down her street where she lived were into the occult...seances...communicating with the so-called "dead..." (who are often, I believe, demons & familiar spirits masquerading as the "dead")...

Let's say they "conjure" up the supposed "spirit" of your deceased mom...

And supposedly have a lengthy "convo" with the alleged "spirit" of your deceased mom...

And a DVD; an audio tape; a transcript is circulated which depicts some things that reputationally you don't want associated with your deceased mom.

Your conclusion? "This could only bother" you "if" you "gave some validity to" the occult & seances & communicating with the dead. But since you "don't," this would "simply seem a silly thing for them to do."

Pshaw! You were mormon long enough to learn that the only "right" way is the mormon way. That's why the Christian creeds, God and Savior must be destroyed and replaced by the mormon creed, god and savior.

True. But it makes you wonder since they claim the Temple in the NT had the same rites and wasn’t yet apostate, why do they need to do the work for people who would have had the rituals then?

Another problem for Mormons.
