Allow me to give what I think is a comparable analogy:
Let's say your mom is deceased.
Let's say the people down her street where she lived were into the occult...seances...communicating with the so-called "dead..." (who are often, I believe, demons & familiar spirits masquerading as the "dead")...
Let's say they "conjure" up the supposed "spirit" of your deceased mom...
And supposedly have a lengthy "convo" with the alleged "spirit" of your deceased mom...
And a DVD; an audio tape; a transcript is circulated which depicts some things that reputationally you don't want associated with your deceased mom.
Your conclusion? "This could only bother" you "if" you "gave some validity to" the occult & seances & communicating with the dead. But since you "don't," this would "simply seem a silly thing for them to do."
I see it more as desecrating or urinating on a grave.
Sorry I took so long to acknowledge your comment. We were at Mass and then we visit people at the hospital. I think your analogy is rather tortured. I see where you are attempting to go, but I still can’t agree with giving credence to people I think are goofy, wether they are Mormon or otherwise.
