It sounds worse than it really is. First of all, they are changing the times to Saturday night and they will still have Sunday morning services. As a Catholic, we are lucky to have a choice between Saturday night, Sunday morning and some churches even have Sunday evening Mass they you can go to. I don’t see this as a negative as long as they go sometime during the weekend.

My former Catholic parish in Arizona cancelled its regular Sunday night teen religious education classes when the Cardinals played in the 2009 Super Bowl. The parish still had its regular 5pm Sunday Mass, but my wife told me there were only a handful of people there, given the 4:30pm MST Super Bowl start time. It wasn’t that big a deal to push back a class, especially when classes are cancelled during school breaks anyway.

The BEST thing about the Catholic Church (for me) is that I have the honor, privilege and ability to receive Holy Communion (the Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus) every single solitary day.
How absolutely wonderful is that?
