Egypt May Cancel Peace with Israel, Says Jordan's King
BibleProphecyBlog.com ^ | October 27, 2011 | Ryan Jones

It's not only Israeli analysts who fear that even the cold peace between their country and Egypt may be in danger as Islamic forces rise in the wake of Egypt's revolution.

Jordan's King Abdullah II on Wednesday told the Washington Post that there is a "very strong possibility" that following upcoming elections, Egypt's new rulers will revoke the Camp David Accords.

That is especially true if the Muslim Brotherhood comes to power. The group is contesting over 50 percent of the parliament seats in the next election, and is currently the only major political party active in the country.

Jordanian King Abdullah IIAbdullah said that Jordan will soon be "the last man standing" in terms of nations in the region that have friendly relations with Israel.

There are many who disagree with Abdullah's conclusions, and even the Post tried to qualify his statements by noting that so-called experts (presumably the same who failed to see the 'Arab Spring' coming in the first place) find talk of Egypt ending its peace treaty with Israel wildly speculative.

Those experts insist that Egypt wants to maintain its flow of American financial aid and military equipment, and won't do anything to jeopardize that. However, the Muslim Brotherhood and the many Egyptians who back the group have repeatedly stated throughout the revolution that they have no interest in continuing their nation's reliance on American backing, and that they view adherence to their radical Islamic ideals as far more important than Western money.

"The peace between Israel and Egypt is no longer holy," declared Egyptian diplomat and Secretary-General of the Arab League Nabil al-Arabi at a recent rally. "It [peace with Israel] cannot be considered equal to the holy Koran."

Al-Arabi was only echoing what the Egyptian public had been saying for months.

The results of a public opinion poll conducted following the fall of dictator Hosni Mubarak found that the majority of Egyptians want to annul their nation's peace treaty with Israel.

Conducted by the Pew Research Center, the survey revealed that 54 percent of Egyptians don't want peace with Israel, and will support a candidate who advocates annulling the Camp David Accords.

That percentage was the same among both secular Egyptians and those affiliated with Islamic organizations.

A newer poll conducted by the parent company of Egypt's Al-Ahram newspaper tried to skew the numbers a bit by giving respondents numerous options regarding what they would like to see happen with the Camp David Accords.

Only 23 percent said they want the peace treaty with Israel to be left as it is. Sixty-two percent said they were interested in maintaining the peace treaty with Israel, but only if it was amended to enhance the benefits to Egypt. It was that 62 percent that the media latched onto, ignoring the fact that the majority wants to alter the peace treaty in ways that would no doubt be hostile toward and unacceptable to Israel.

The Real Beneficiaries of 0bama’s Middle East Policy

Why would 0bama support a democracy movement in Egypt which removes our last remaining Islamic ally in the region when 85% of the population supports the annihilation of Israel and 90% supports Sharia Law?

Yet he leaves popular uprisings in Iran where the population is much more pro-western totally without so much as a wink or nod?

He plans on leaving Iran without a major counterbalance in the region by leaving Iraq powerless.

He supported terrorists by helping them removing Kadafi.

Add this to the fact that he suggested Israel go back to the 1967 borders before outrage from all sides caused him to walk the statements back.

Who really benefits from this radical change in the US Middle Eastern policy?

There really are two winners: Iran and the Muslim Brotherhood. He has hinted at his support of the Brotherhood by calling them a mostly political not ideological group, but he had to retract those factually ridiculous statements of his administration.

But the fact that he would allow his underlings to make them to begin with speaks volumes.

Those who have called 0bama a Manchurian Candidate might have been correct in this regard to this.

If anyone has a different interpretation that explains 0bama’s motivation, I’d like to hear it.

Israel should immediately re-take the Sinai and never give it back.

Wars and rumors of wars.

There will be plenty of wars even if that time is not yet.
The burden of Damascus is yet to fall, and I believe that will precede the end times.

The purpose of Israel is to reveal God to the nations.
The followers of “Allah” are about to get another humiliation.
Even if Israel fights alone again.

it is the Church that reveals God to the nations.

corporate Israel for the most part has been blinded and rejects the true God, since they reject Jesus Christ.

There are none so blind as those who refuse to see.

Israel does not reveal God by a volitional act.
Israel reveals the hand of God because its very existence is both a military, cultural, and political impossibility.

A people cast out of their homeland and scattered abroad thousands of years ago can not possibly retain their original ethnic identity.

In the face of near universal hostility from the world, absent a few religious groups far from the middle east, Israel should be a political impossibility.

Surrounded by teeming millions willing to die to kill Jews, Israel is a military impossibility - her vast nuclear arsenal not withstanding.

God is not through with Israel. Israel is still a light unto the nations, even though she is playing the harlot and rejecting the Lamb of God. A stumbling stone that draws those who curse the authority of the creator to shatter themselves upon it.

Israel will withstand Egypt Syria and Iran, not because of her obedience, but because it reveals God's glory and power.

[Jordanian King Abdullah II] said that Jordan will soon be "the last man standing" in terms of nations in the region that have friendly relations with Israel.
Does he really believe that? Bwa ha ha!

The Church is a light to the nations, it is the Israel of God.
people who reject Jesus will die in their sins and do the will of their father, the devil. such people are a light to no one.

God will use whom he pleases to accomplish his purposes. Their cooperation is not required.

Whether or not the Jews in Israel come to a saving faith is irrelevant. That has a bearing on their judgment after death, but none whatsoever on whether or not God can use them to humble the nations.

it’s helpful to know the difference between spiritual Israel and physical Israel. the nations are blessed by the former, not the latter.

The important thing is not the pouring out of blessings upon men.

The important thing is the lifting the eyes of rebellious, sinful men to acknowledge - however reluctantly - the glorious omnipotent power of the creator of the Universe.

And in doing so, their excuses for their insolence in their final hour weighs ever more heavily upon the unrepentant.

God's covenant with Abraham was not for the purpose of blessing Abraham, although it pleased God to do so. The purpose was to reveal the Glory of God to the world. That covenant is still in force and God is still glorified. The blessings are conditional upon man's obedience to and relationship with God.

Israel will be used to bring glory to god regardless, whether it is by surviving unimaginable persecution and genocidal furies, or whether it is by triumph against impossible odds.

read the Scriptures to find out exactly who is an heir to the promises made to Abraham. ( it’s not who you think )

You keep trying to wrench the topic away from whether God will preserve Israel to the humiliation of the nations around her and to his own glory - which is sort of the topic of this thread - to whether or not Jews living in Israel now are saved.

This is too important a topic to discard the actual subject and turn to the topic of salvation.

It is more important to direct the lost to the question of whether or not Israel can survive a concerted Muslim onslaught backed by Russia and China without aid from The US.

The answer of course is no, it is not possible.

Nonetheless, it will happen anyway, and those who fervently wish to deny the existence of God will be left gnashing their teeth and concocting an excuse for the failure of the forces of unbelief to disprove God.

Again.
