NASHVILLE, Tenn. - A traveling evangelist who has sometimes aligned with Westboro Baptist Church has been jailed in Tennessee on charges of assaulting a police officer and resisting arrest.
Nashville police Sgt. Robert Haught told WSMV-TV in Nashville that 48-year-old Glynis Bethel, who is associated with Twenty-First Century House of God in Loxley, Ala., pepper sprayed him in the face as he tried to stop her from leaving a scene Saturday.

Last time I saw a mouth like that, it had a hook in it.
... Hats off to Rodney Dangerfield ...
This is a first class bitch:. From a local TV station:
“A Butler County family is outraged after a traveling Evangelist targets their daughter for a bizarre confrontation. At Fairfield Freshman School, the Evangelist, Glynis Bethel, threatens a 15 year-old and it was all caught on camera.
The Bethel family lives in Loxley, Alabama, but they travel around, enrolling their children briefly in local schools. Then file federal lawsuits against the school systems for allegedly violating their constitutional rights. It’s a business for the Bethels.
On Monday, Glynis Bethel, the self proclaimed prophet, took her camera to Fairfield Freshman School. She was on her way out of the school when she says she heard London Willis swearing over the phone. She turned on her camera and went after her. “You little witch.” “Do you hear this lady? She just got in my face and called me a witch.”
Willis was on the phone with her mom. “And all I could hear her doing was telling my daughter she was a witch, she was going to hell.”
With other students looking on, the confrontation turned to threats. “Because I want to get this little witch on camera.” “I’m about to snatch the damn camera.” “Ok baby you make my day because I’m about to beat the hell out of you, something that your own momma won’t do.”
“I’m worried because she is so radical. And I have viewed other videos taken in previous years, and it seems like it’s getting worse. And I worry that one day they’re gonna physically harm someone.”
The traveling Evangelists post many of their videos on You Tube as they travel around the country suing school systems and law enforcement. Now London Willis is featured in one of the videos. Her mom says the whole family has been traumatized. She’s worried about how far the Bethels might go. “I will do whatever is in my power to stop her. I’m not intimidated, my children are not intimidated to pursue whatever avenues we can to stop her from doing either this to my children again or someone else’s kids.”
Jacque Willis and her daughter talked with Fairfield police today about filing charges against Glynis Bethel. It will probably be up to the prosecutor to decide if charges are appropriate.
As for the Bethels, they’ve recently left town and have taken their “ministry” to Tennessee, but they’ll be back.
Glynis Bethel tells us she’s a supporter of corporal punishment, and when she told London Willis she’d “beat the hell out of her...” she meant it in a biblical sense and was really talking about spanking her.”
They have been arresting Holy Men, since, I dunno, Jesus?

Thanks for the ping Piasa.
I thought the Westboro Baptists were all white of the same family. Interesting...
it’s a woman, from the Westboro Baptists. So the terms “holy” and “man” are probably misplaced imho :)
You think she’s holy?
Well, I see doctrinal idiocy is no respecter of race or sex.
That would those two hints of the seriousness of my post.
