I’m going to go out on a limb and say that this May 21, date was inspired by Satan. Yep, and Camping is his tool. It makes a laughing stock out of Christians. Remember Y2K and how many people felt stupid the day after? To this day, a lot of them feel burned and won’t consider ever preparing like that again. The same will hold true of this Judgement Day fiasco. People will feel burned and turn against God and the teachings of the Bible, only this time there really WILL be a Judgement Day, in God’s timing, and they won’t be ready.

It makes a laughing stock out of Christians.

Even Christ's pure words of truth made the scorners of His day do just that... A laughing stock.

What's sad is, ...it only gives the already hardened unbeliever, one more reason, NOT to believe...

Like a former pastor once said; "A Bible text out of context is a pretext"

I have heard Mr. Camping before and he has been preaching for Christians to abandon mainstream churches for years and adopt a "primitive" type of Christianity, assembling only in homes to pray and study... sounds pretty separatist to me.

The Bible warned us of this in the last days in Hebrews 10:25:
"Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another--and all the more as you see the Day approaching."

This is just but one sign of a false prophet, nevermind the most obvious, that no one knows the "day or the hour", "not even the angels in Heaven" Matthew 24:36

Mr. Harold Camping is a false prophet

This does point to, however, that Christ's Return is nearer.

It always has done just that as Pastors or Teachers make these claims. They've been had by the Father of lies IMO. Because by setting a date, exactly as Christians were told NOT to do nor could they, they've stepped over the line God said don't go over.

This does not mean we should not discern the times we are living in..." Birth Pains"...are indeed around us and are increasing in intensity (record breaking)....and frequency. However this can be slowed down at any time by God as He has done so in the past.

However, We could be the last generation spoken of...(note: "Could be").... some theologians and others believe this to be the case and do formulate a convincing arguement to that affect.

At best we can only seculate....besides we are told to look for His coming itself...not the date to sit and wait for that.
