From the article
"This amazing support for amendment10-A reveals that Presbyterians want to return to the historic Presbyterian way of selecting officers to serve in the Church. Local governing bodies can more effectively discern the gifts and qualifications of ministers, elders and deacons. Our Church and world will benefit from the service of LGBT persons as we learned when we removed the barriers to women serving in the Church," said the Rev. Dr. Janet Edwards, co-moderator of More Light Presbyterians.
With this and the uptick in OrthodoPresbyterianC's leftist anti-Christian attacks, this group has come out in the open with it's desire to destroy Christianity

But the devil doesn't win in the end.

Sexual deviants make great "clergy".

Frankly, I’m surprised the PCUSA hasn’t taken this position nationwide about a decade ago. Like the rest of the mainlines, they have left their first love.

Try OPC or UPC to stay scriptural.

This is so cool. Right and wrong are decided by majority vote. Who needs God when you have democracy.

This Protestant denomination also has been actively pursuing divestment from Israel, IIRC.

We believe God’s Spirit is at work as more people are understanding that faith and character are more important considerations for ministry than one’s marital status or sexual orientation,” said Michael Adee, executive director of More Light Presbyterians.

I thought God already voted on this at Sodom.

Of Course I am not an expert on such things as this as this person some others might be.

Does this person ever read the Bible? Maybe he just doesn’t believe what he reads.

The Presbyterians may allow it, but God doesn’t, and expects them to know better.

The PCUSA is very different from the OPC which doesn't even ordain women let alone gay clergy.

But as Roman Catholics have taught us, let's look at the source of the article --

CELEBRATING 25 YEARS OF Lesbian Gay Bisexual and Transgender NEWS

Regardless, the PCUSA will self-destruct if this change passes and the beneficiary will be the OPC and PCA who are ready to give rest to Christ's sheep.

More Light Presbyterians.

I guess some people can not read what others write with understanding.

Presbyterian is a FORM OF CHURCH GOVERNMENT ..it is not a doctrine..

"New light" churches are ALWAYS PCUSA . The Presbyterian church USA has a Presbyterian FORM OF CHURCH GOVERNMENT. The kindest thing I could say about that church is it is :"some of them might be kinnda arminian" They do not have a Calvinist doctrinal position.. Most of these churches are actually not even Christian .

Is the clear yet?

With this and the uptick in OrthodoPresbyterianC's leftist anti-Christian attacks

The PCUSA is by no means an "orthodox" church. It is one of many extreme liberal churches springing up today. The PCA is the orthodox Presbyterians group which left the PCUSA. I attend a wonderful Reformed PCA church although I believe I'm still a Reformed Baptist at heart. If Presbyterians want to leave the PCUSA, then they should join the PCA. Frankly it's not a surprise that probably the most liberal churches (in San Francisco) in the liberal PCUSA would want to allow gay clergy.

But as Rnmomof7 indicated in one of her post, the Catholic Church has been ordaining gay priests for years. I don't understand why you or other Catholics should see this as an issue?
